Chaper 6

The girls spent there weekend over at Sakura's house,they thought it would be better if they stayed together,to comfort there heartbroken friend.
It's safe to say they've managed to recover the old Ino,she's still not over him but she'll get there.

*Monday at school*

That Monday Ino switched seats with Sakura saying she wasn't ready to seat next to sasuke. The four girls actually voted Sakura to seat with him the night before the school day.They played a small game were they cut four pieces of paper and write the name of the person they think should seat next to him.
To be honest none of them want to seat next to the cold uchiha and surprisingly they all chose Sakura who had voted Tenten.
They were having a class with Mr.Hakate.
All other girls except the three found it weird that she sat with uchiha instead of ino who's been his seat mate for about six years now.
Sakura personally thought that Monday would be the most awkward moment of her entire life or at least on her top three.
"That's it for today's class"Kakashi said turning his head from the board to face them.
"But before I leave,Iet me issue your project" he says with a grin.
Making all the kids growl.
After issuing there  project to them.He said something revolutionary.
"Now,the person seating next to you will be your project partner"He says with a grin.

"But"they all objected.

"Ahh,no buts besides it'll be more creative like this anyway.Anyone who dares object again would get an F and mind you,this project is worth half your grade for this term"he says in a serious tone.
"Great"Sakura thought totally being sarcastic.

Mr.Hakate left the class soon after and the bell for recess rung.Sakura was about to go meet up with the girls at the garden relived that it's all over but worried about the project.She didn't want to fail and Kakashi made himself very clear.She was sure going to give her friends all an ultimatum.
"Sakura?"she heard a certain boy callout.

"Yes,sasuke?"she asked feeling tense,there he stood in front of her.

"The project?"he questioned with his hands in his pockets looking straight into her eyes making her more tense.

"Mmm,yeah?,what about it?"she says grinning like a fool thinking it'll make the atmosphere a bit brighter.

"Look,I also really don't  like the idea of having you as a partner,we'd be better off with other people" he says rolling his eyes coldly.

Sakura looks down at the ground with a small frown.Yes,she would do almost anything to change partners but she never thought of it as such a terrible thing.What he said hurt her even if through all those years they never really had a proper conversation and the talk they were having right now would be the longest, she still thought of him as a friend.
When sasuke noticed her sudden withdrawal he decided to speak up.

"Shall we meet after school for the project?,The earlier the better.It's best so we both part ways"he said coldly.

Sakura decided to excuse him and let it be after all he's always been like that.There's no point to hold it against him anyways.
"Sure"she lowly says.

"My place or your place?"sakura asks.

"Yours"Sasuke says walking away.

She sighed "finally he's gone"she thought.

Sakura sat next to naruto in there usual lunch spot at the garden ever since they were eight. She was giving death glares to all the girls throughout lunch.
Tenten rolled her eyes in response to sakura, ino just ignored and hinata kept dodging eye contact with Sakura.
During lunch sasuke acted as if nothing was said between the both of them which made Sakura feel a little sad.Really?,is that all? He wasn't nice to her at all,he didn't say sorry and he acts like she's invisible again.

"How'd Ino handle him?"she thought.

Sakura couldn't even stand being in the same place with all of four of them and decided to excuse herself a bit.
She left the garden for there classroom and sat behind the class.She knew nobody would be there since it was break time.

"What a great day I'm having"she mumbled sarcastically to herself while taking a bite of her apple.
"Sakura what's wrong?"naruto says seating next to her with a bowl of ramen.
Seems like he followed her back to the class.

"Nothing"she says with a wide smile.

"Oh come on,sasuke isn't that bad"he says nudging her with his elbow.

"He is actually"she says with an eye roll nudging him to.

"Tell, you what?"He says taking a spoon full of ramen.
"What?"she questioned.

"Myself and sasuke have been friends since we were in cradles.Our mother's are the best of friends so we hung out a lot as kids.Even as kids he was stuck up and always serious.It took forever honestly before he acknowledged me. I'm an only child and never really knew what it felt like to have a sibling but when sasuke started warming up to me,I felt like I had a brother.He might act so stuck up but it's all just an act to scare all of you away,just give him time.I'm sure he'll lighten up and I'll talk to him.He always listens to me and if doesn't I'll tell Itachi,That'll sure do the work"he ends taking a larger bowl of ramen.

"Your so lucky,you got my old project partner. You got Hinata,she's so sweet and corporative to work with"Sakura says with a sigh.

"Just do your best ok?"naruto says patting her shoulder.

"I'm lucky to have you as a best guy friend"she says sincerely.
She truly didn't know how things were going to end with sasuke and so she decided to change the subject even though she truly meant what she said.Over the years,naruto has always been there for her and she appreciates him so much.

"Same"he says with a smile.

School was finally over.The kids all got in to the uchiha car and one by one were dropped off at there various houses...
"I'll be over by 5"sasuke says to Sakura before she exited the car.
"Ok"she says walking away.
