Once upon a time, Clara sat on the top of her bed during a summer evening completely isolated from the world. She had been back from boarding school for a month now. Another championship won, another school year completed. She was fifteen, on the brink of sixteen. Maybe this year Brittany and Chad would remember her birthday. Clara would never complain however. They fed her and sent her to an expensive school with the best martial arts program in all of America. However, something was missing.

She was tired, starved of family. The young girl stared into reflection of her mirror. Her face was drowning in sorrow yet a spark of strength within let her stay strong those many moments she would face alone. Clara felt like an outcast by her family...her foster parents.

Even with her sixteenth birthday looming on the horizon Clara was still an abandoned child who needed a parental figure. Everyone she met knew the innermost secrets of her life within minutes of meeting her. It was like watching someone bleed-out emotionally before your eyes, like that wound would just never heal. She was alone, simple as that.

Now? Now Clara Uchimura was running alongside Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes as they searched for the Quinjet.

"We found it," Sam radioed Steve. "Their Quinjet is in hanger five, north runway."

"They're gonna beat the crap out of each other," Clara grumbled. "This is stupid."

"They won't listen, it's as simple as that kid," Sam told her. "Keep your eyes glued, no surprise attacks."

The terminal seemed to be miles long when suddenly a loud thud caused Bucky, Sam and Clara to slow down.

"What the hell was that?" Bucky questioned.

"Everyone's got a gimmick now." Sam groaned.

Spider-Man crashed through the window, knocking Sam over. He quickly spun around and stopped Bucky's punch with a single hand. "You have a metal arm?" he gawked. "This is awesome dude!"

Clara spun her legs out under him, knocking him to the ground. A trick she learnt from Valerie and Ally that she had finally mastered. "You sound like a child," she stood up. "You've never done this before have you?"

Spider-Man paused for a moment, trying to grasp what had just happened. "But you are a child?"

Clara shrugged, stepping on his chest with her foot. "I prefer young adult."

Without hesitation, Spider-Man rolled out underneath her and went to web her before Sam flew in. He grabbed him and they began to fly in the air. "You have the right to remain silent!"

Bucky helped Clara up, pulling her from the ground. "Who the hell was that?"

Clara wiped off the dust from her suit. "Whoever it is, he's got a big mouth."

"I don't want to do this Nat," Ally spoke truthfully. "Stand down."

"You think I'm in this for the fight?"

"Wouldn't be the first time."

"Look," Natasha attempted. "I know how much he means to you and Steve..."

"So why not help us?" Ally snapped.

"It's not that easy."

A sudden gush of pain jolted throughout Ally's body. Natasha had made the first strike. Her stomach ached, her arms lost tension as she adjusted to the blow to her ribs. She grabbed Natasha's foot and pulled her to the ground. She brought a fist to Natasha's face. There was a moment of weakness and Ally could not bring herself to carry out the action. Instead, she pressed down on Natasha's suit and zapped her. Ally took off running, using her head start.

"What now?" She questioned into her earpiece.

"We need to get to the Quinjet," Steve responded. "I need someone to stay on Tony."

"I got it, everyone head to the Quinjet."

Steve and everyone else began to run towards the Quinjet when suddenly, a fizzing stream of energy sliced across the runway and they stopped abruptly.

"Captain Rogers," Vision hovered above. "I know you believe what you're doing is right. But for the collective good you must surrender now."

"What do we do Cap?" Sam questioned.

"We fight."

"You sure about this Steve?" Ally questioned, joining the rest of her team. "You lead, I'll follow."

"Couldn't be more sure."

The two teams strided towards each other with grim determination etched onto their faces. Clara and Valerie stood side by side, waiting for Steve to give them orders. This had to be the end, or there was no other way.

"Ally, I want you and Valerie to sneak away during what's about to happen. Get to the Quinjet, make sure we can leave as soon as we get there."

"What about Clara?"

"We need her here," Steve instructed. "She can take on the spiderling thing."

"I'll cover her Ally," Bucky told her. "But she's got this."

Ally nodded, joining everyone else as they ran into the fight. Ally didn't know who threw the first punch, but suddenly her fists were slamming into T'challa's suit. They stumbled apart for a brief second to catch their breaths before diving back at each other, her eyes narrowed in determination. She dodged T'Challa's fist and came up with her own. He managed to tilt her head back and slam it into the ground. Suddenly T'Challa's grasp weakened and Ally had the chance to stand back up. Bucky had knocked him to the side, the two men holding each other by the throats.

"I didn't kill your father!"

"Then why did you run?" T'Challa pulled Bucky's hand off his neck, then spun him backwards. He sprouted claws and aimed for Bucky's neck. Wanda stopped his hand, then waved her arms and sent T'Challa crashing into a passenger gangway.

"Bucky," Ally murmured, running over to him. "Come on, stand up."

"Are you okay?" He breathed heavily.

Her blood hummed in her veins. "I'm fine," she wiped a small trail of blood from her forehead. "Watch her Bucky, don't let them hurt her."

Bucky nodded, unsure how to show his affection. The right words were trapped behind the mask of the Winter Soldier. "I will. Now you need to go."

Ally moved her head closer to Bucky's. He stood frozen, from both fear and longing. She leaned in, so her forehead rested against his. They closed their eyes, both their breaths shaking. The world stopped for a split second. The fighting around them didn't exist. It was just two people from the past with the same feeling from a starry night long ago. She pressed her lips carefully on his. It was quick, barely anything.

But it meant everything.
