--Michaelangelo--
"Papa!" My son rushed to me and I caught him in my arms as we stood in the clearing.
"What's that you have my son?" I smiled as he held out various flowers for me to take.
"They're for mama, I can't wait until she gets here. Do you think she's okay?" He questioned.
I sighed and sat down with him on the lush grass and ruffled his hair.
"Oh you know your mother, she's always late." I winked.
It had been five years since the night of Jack's death, Rose and I were married almost immediately after she'd fully recovered and shortly after that we welcomed Junior into our lives.
He was the light of my life, and I treasured him as much as I treasured my wife.
As for Rose...well, a promise is a promise and she had to fulfill hers eventually. Rose took Malachi's words seriously and they hung like a weight over her head until the day finally came where they called for her.
Her word was sealed in blood and when they took her from me and our son I was devastated to say the least, I always knew that Rose's death was inevitable but for them to take her so suddenly sent me into endless waves of sadness I'd never known before.
The day came where I went out for a run and felt a part of me detaching from my body, and as painful as it was I felt relief. It wasn't until after that I realized what Rose had told me of Moraoro being reborn and her death meaning the end of the cycle.
It took us some time to finally accept that she had indeed left and she was quite possibly never coming back. In that time however, I created a bond with my son like no other and we were inseparable.
I thought by pushing my son away I wouldn't have to endure the pain that Rose had embedded into my body when she left us but it did the exact opposite. He needed me as much as I needed him, and once I came to that realization there was nothing else that mattered.
"Papa look!" Junior pointed towards the sky where the clouds started to part and I felt my heart beating a thousand times faster.
Rose was coming.
It had officially been two years since the last time she was here and I was still just as nervous as the first day I met her in that ballroom.
Every two years, Rose is permitted to stay in the human realm for two years until she has to leave again and I would be forever grateful to Malachi for those rules.
Rose was my everything, and to our son and when I told him that his mother was going to be joining us on and off for the duration of two years he was ecstatic although I wasn't quite sure he understood to the fullest extent of what I was saying.
Nevertheless, she descended from the sky just as beautiful as ever and I found myself smiling like an idiot from ear to ear.
My love, my life and my soul was about to touch back down on the earth. I wasn't going to let her get within three feet from me for those remaining two years we were to spend with each other.
If I got lucky, I'd put another baby in her too.
I smiled at the prospect.
She walked towards us slowly and I took notice of the way she took in my appearance with the same lust I'd yearned for for those years we'd spent apart.
I could bear it no longer and I ran to her swiftly, watching her pick up her speed as well until she was finally in my arms again.
"Always late." I teased as I set her down on the grass and tilted her chin to look up towards me.
"Michaelangelo, it's been so long." She smiled up at me with those dazzling eyes of hers.
I couldn't help myself, I needed to kiss her before I took her right there under the sun.
This kiss was intense, filled with sorrow and happiness all in one and I felt my lust that had been pooling for her only grow stronger with the flick of her tongue against my bottom lip.
"Mama!" Junior's voice broke us apart and her eyes lit up once more as she reached down and caught him in her arms as he ran towards us.
"These are for you." He held out the various violet and white colored flowers for her which she gracefully accepted.
"Thank you my dear son, my how big you've gotten! I've missed you so."
He smiled and hugged her tightly before she picked him and threw him up into the air swiftly before catching him again.
She looked to me with such adoration, I felt as though I might break.
Gods, this woman truly was my eternal love.
Our lives may not have been perfect or even functional for some...but it was ours and I was glad to share it with her.
"Let's return to the castle." I smiled as she mounted her horse.
"Indeed, I believe there's a certain ring waiting for me on my bedside." She reminded me.
"It will always be there waiting for you my love. Always."
The End.
WOW I can't believe it's over! It's been so long and yet I feel so accomplished! The epilogue is short I know please don't murder me but I wanted something from his point of view to really put in perspective how their lives had been with and without her. Thank you so much to everyone who stuck with me and continues to, to this day! I couldn't have done it without you!
And as always, thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed. xox
