The next morning, Jim woke up to someone shaking him. "Wake up sunshine." The man said. Beckett sat up and looked at him. "Name's Colton, nice to meet ya." "Jim." He said back through closed eyes. "Well well well, look who it is, you're bucket!" Colton said, "The one who got into a fight with Ramsey," "Yeah, that's me." Jim said, not really liking his new nickname. "Well you got my respect, not many people fight with Ramsey." He said. So that was his name. "And they say you're the one who threw the first punch!" Beckett, somewhat tired of his new admirer, stood up and stretched. "Colton acted like he was going to say more when the drill sergeant came in. Oh yay, this guy. Everyone stood up straight in front of their beds.
After hours of training, it was lunchtime. Everyone headed towards the mess hall, got their trays, and sat down.
   6 Months Later
"We're going into hell boys, so pack your stuff." Ramsey said. In the six months Beckett had known Ramsey, he knew he was an all around dick. But that didn't keep them from becoming friends. Plus he was their new squad leader, so it didn't help if you were on his bad side.
"Aye aye  Nose." Colton said sarcastically. "Shut up, Squeaker, has anyone ever told you that you talk to mutch." Ramsey's nickname had become Nose because of his, well nose. And Colton had been named squeaker because he could ramble on forever. Beckett, however, was stuck with Bucket. Because his name sounded similar.
Beckett began packing his things into his duffel bag. Extra clips, first aid, flashlight. "Hurry up Echo team!" Nose shouted. Beckett quickly finished up, grabbed his helmet, and ran out the door. The sun blinded him, and he had to put his hand up to let his eyes adjust.
He put his helmet on and buckled the strap. "Hurry, get on that chopper the drill sergeant said, walking up from somewhere behind them. Beckett began to jog across the airfield to where he could see the propellers spinning slowly on a black hawk. He could see that most of his team were already in the bird. Beckett quickly walked up to it and hopped in.
3 Hours Later
Beckett was getting tired of riding in the helicopter. The constant wind coming from the open hatch was giving him a headache. "You asleep over there?" Squeaky said, shaking him. "Hey, are you Awake!" He said annoyingly as possible, Beckett still didn't reply. Squeaky pushes him nearly making him fall from the bird into the night. Beckett probably would have if he didn't grab ahold of the rail. He turned towards Squeaky and punched him, the whole time he was just laughing. "You two knock it off." Nose said. And just like that, it happened. A rocket tore through the air, arcing towards the black hawk. "Evasive maneuvers!" The pilot yelled through the radio. Beckett held on as the helicopter spun and jerked avoiding the rocket. It kept going into the night sky. And then the whole night air was lit up with bullets. The pilots did the best they could, swerving side to side. Beckett could just make out a helicopter coming in from the west. He strained to see the silhouette. As it neared, he could see that it wasn't American. Oh no. Beckett quickly got on the minigun connected to the helicopter and began spraying the oncoming bird. As soon as he opened fire, the enemy chopper did the same.
Beckett could here the bullets ping! every time it hit the helicopter. "Keep firing!" Nose screamed. But it was too late. The enemy had damaged the tail rotor. The helicopter began spinning out of control. "Ahh I'm losin her!" The pilot yelled. Beckett could see the ground getting closer. "Brace for impact!"
