The barrel of the gun was cold against my temple, my hands were shaking with adrenaline, my knuckles bloody from the fight I had just endured, through all of that I never expected to find myself kneeling on the floor, a gun to my head. My palms were sweaty, worrying about the next move, worrying about how I was going to move away without being killed. Murder was not something I partially enjoyed, especially if I was to be on the receiving end, not that I had much to worry about today.
"Tell me, Blair, how do you plan to get out of this one?" I heard a spiteful female voice from the blonde girl in the room, Lana. My eyes flicked to her before flicking to the gun's owner.
I heard a chuckle leave the lips of the guy holding the gun, the metal shaking against my head carelessly. Seriously how did I get lumbered with these two?
I couldn't help but roll my eyes, even at this moment in time with a gun to my head. I stood up sharply and looked at the guy holding the gun before knocking his hand back, the gun moving swiftly away from me. "Could you at least try and be serious you idiot!" I growled at him before I shook my head showing my disapproval.
Reece had come a long way since the beginning of his training, he used to work so sloppily, yet just recently I had taken out on his first ever job. He handled it exceptionally well, working in a clean tidy fashion, mainly because it was just the two of us. When he trained with Lana things seemed to be very different, his murderous skills leaving his head and turning into a boy again.
His eyes shot up at me before he moved his hand back around, I grabbed the gun from his grip yanking his arm slightly before sighing loudly. "Come on Blair, it's a little fun." Reece was a good lad but when it came to training he always thought it would be more fun than it was. As he looked at me with those huge brown puppy dog eyes I knew all would be forgiven sooner or later, especially since I had been training him for a good six months. He rubbed his arm where I had pulled on it too hard, his face forming a look of hurt.
The door clicked open before the Don walked in, his name Romeo DeMarco. It wasn't like Romeo to be checking in on training sessions, he usually kept himself to himself. Romeo had received his posting young, his father had passed the torch on due to ill health, Romeo had stepped in comfortably, he had the right attitude. He had been around a bit and had done some unspeakable things but becoming in charge had been the making of him.
I remember one of the first times I saw Romeo at work, it scared me at first just because I didn't expect to see what I did. He was one of the most ruthless people I had ever met, his victim not paying up on time, a common problem in this line of business. Romeo had asked me to watch, just so I knew what I was getting myself into, not that I would be able to turn my back once I saw it. Romeo proceeded to cut off the man's fingers and toes one by one, something which shocked me at the time, but I realise that it was something pretty tame considering everything else I had seen and participated in.
"Blair!" His voice rang out as his piercing green eyes laid on me, our eyes connecting. He had an aura about him, something about him was intimidating, not just because he was in charge. He had filled out having time to hit the gym without having to do his dirty work himself. His brown hair on point every time, just perfectly cut, short back and sides, a little longer on top.
"Romeo." I addressed him informally. I was one of the only people in the fold that was allowed to do so, everyone else knew the correct terms when it came to Romeo and being respectful.
His head nodded towards the door, I placed the gun down on the nearby sideboard before I left the room and waited for Romeo outside the room. He soon appeared after a few seconds, "Let us go to my office."
