Emma Swan was skimming through the aisles of the gigantic bookstore, looking for her favourite section: Teen Fiction. She needed to find some new books, and fast because she was leaving in a few days on vacation with her friends Mary, Regina, Belle, and her adoptive parents." She couldn't spend a month on a beach without having a story beside her to lose herself in.

Emma was a reader, no doubt about that. She's always been sort of a bookworm, from finishing the Harry Potter series in a week ("They were so good I couldn't put them down!") to reading the most books out of all the students at her elementary school in an annual read-a-thon. But now that Emma grew into a beautiful young woman, with school and a part-time job always keeping her occupied, she didn't have time to always be reading. This vacation would allow her schedule to open up.

Emma's head snapped up when she heard a loud ringtone erupt the peaceful silence of the bookstore. The owner of the cellphone let it ring a couple of times before answering, making Emma feel very annoyed. She glanced back and forth until her eyes landed on the culprit, a male taller than her whose back was facing her.

From this angle, Emma could only spot his black leather jacket and black jeans and his black hair, styled to ulitmate perfection but in an effortless "i woke up like this" way. Emma scoffed, "What an asshole," she thought as she turned her body towards the bookshelf again. She crouched down and placed her attention on an attractive looking book before she heard someone walk up beside her, someone wearing black shoes and dark jeans.

Emma raised her head to sneak a quick glance but her plan failed when she caught the young man looking straight at her. She raised herself and folded her arms on her chest.

"Can I help you?"

"Depends, would you like to go out for coffee?" the "bad boy" answered smoothly. His smirk irritated Emma, which made her decide that she would rather not spend more time with him, even if he was beautiful.

"No thanks, I don't hang out with strangers." She replied.

"Well, we wouldn't be stranger if you actually give me a chance,...." He also crossed his arms, imitating Emma's pose, waiting to hear Emma's name.

"It's Emma. Is the coffee date going to be the only to get rid of you?" Emma asked while loosening her stance because she felt self conscious about the way the mystery man was mocking her. "I don't even know your name!"

"I'm Killian Jones, there now aren't complete strangers. C'mon, I know a quiet but tasty coffee place nearby."

Emma decided to give Killian a chance because she was leaving the city soon anyways and wouldn't need to see him. "Sure, but only if I get to pick out a books for myself and one for you first."

"It's a deal, love."
