When Xing Chen glanced at the street, the handsome man standing there had already disappeared and the next few seconds, the unhappy General had rushed up to their table. Seeing the husband finally had arrived to the rescue, Xing Chen stood up and ran into his embrace. He tightly held onto his robe. His arms around the waist, and Xing Chen hid his face away, quietly sobbing his tears out. Zhe Yun's face reddened in anger at seeing Xing Chen's trembling figure. He hugged the wife, patted lightly on the back, comforting him. Then he turned to stare at the culprit who looked at them in confusion. Ru Yan quietly bowed to Zhe Yun and stepped aside.
"Your highness, Third Prince Qin Yu. I did not know you have returned to the capital."
"Ah, General Zhe. I've just reached this morning. I'm just passing by the pavilion to drink some tea. I did not know how General is acquainted with this young pretty lady?"
" Is that so? Perhaps Your highness doesn't know of this since you have been travelling around the country. I have just recently married my wife, by Your Father, the Emperor's edict. And this lady is my wife, Su Xing Chen."
Qin Yu stood up speechlessly. He did not even know how he left the pavilion afterwards.....Inside the horse carriage, Zhe Yun smoothly wiped off the tears on the wifey's face. Xing Chen had already stopped crying. He removed the veil and looked at Zhe Yun.
"Ah Yun, hubby, where did you go earlier?"
"Ah, this."
Zhe Yun took out the jewellery box from his sleeves. He passed it into Xing Chen's hands. Xing Chen stared at Zhe Yun, then at the box, and then back again on Zhe Yun's face. He chuckled.
"What are you waiting for, wifey? Open it and see whether you like it."
Xing Chen shyly nodded and opened the jewellery box. He was stunned when he saw the jade ornament. The colors on the masterpiece were exactly the same as on the jadeite stone he had once failed to get. Exactly as he remembered it. Xing Chen felt like he had a thousand words to say, but he couldn't speak a word out. He just looked at Zhe Yun. Xing Chen nodded, and gave him a coquettish smile.
"Ah Yun, thank you very much. I really liked it."
And Xing Chen gave his hubby a hug all the way till they reached home. That night, the wifey took the first step and snuggled up into his arms. And the couple slept happily. ^ω^In the morning, after the General left the manor, Xing Chen took out a square box and placed it into his sleeves. He told Rui Mama before he left the manor on a horse carriage. Xing Chen took with him, Ru Yan and a guard called Yi Xun, placed by his side by the General. Their destination was the jewellery store.
"Welcome. How may I help you, my lady?"
"I want this jade to be carved into an ornament. For my husband."
Xing Chen took out the box and placed it on the counter. The clerk examined the jade within the box. He was surprised. Having to see two rare pieces of jadeite stone with the same colors and qualities truly was surprising. He raised his head and saw the ornament on Xing Chen's braided hair.
"How surprising. Is this young lady, perhaps the General's wife?"
"Yes, that would be me."
"Understood. We will do our best to make this done as fast as possible. Please be assured."
Xing Chen nodded and left the store. He turned to the two followers.
"Don't let the General know of this. It's my surprise gift to him. Don't ruin it. Especially you, Yi Xun. Don't think I don't know you're his hidden guard. I've seen your traces all over the manor....."
He waved his sleeves and went into the carriage. Yi Xun gaped his mouth a moment before he quietly followed back to the General's manor.(。・ω・。)
