As Henry carried me to the physician's room I, asked him a question that has been bugging me the moment he carried me. "If you don't mind me asking, why did you carry me to the physician's room instead of calling him over and just leave me there with Mary and Elizabeth's company? Although I don't mind, because the scenery here is much better than that damp room of yours." I was teasing him and although his face was stoic, amusement was clearly swirling in his eyes.
"Don't get heads over heals for me Anne, I am a married a man." He said while holding back a grin. "Whom tried to cut off his wife's head." I retorted and look of regret washed his face immediately. "Look, I'm sorry Anne, I truly am." He apologized and I can see the sincerity in it but I was not going to let this just go away. He needs to know the severity of his actions.
"Hmm." I just hummed and he sighed then he put me down seeing as we are here. "Martin!" Henry yelled. "Martin?" I asked him confused. "What about Dr. Linacre?" I asked him again. "He caught influenza. Because he did not want others to catch it as well, he asked my permission to get away from court to the countryside until he is healed and I granted him his leave." He answered me.
"Ironic isn't it? The doctor is now in need of a doctor." I said while smiling.
Suddenly the door opened and there goes Martin. His hair was blonde, curly, messy and he is shirtless. "Hel-" He started but when he saw me, he looked at me up and down before Henry coughed on purpose and put him back from his trance.
"I'm sorry." He muttered while coughing awkwardly and then looked at me again and said, "It's just that, you're so beautiful." Making me blush and Henry glare at him. "Perhaps try keeping your eyes to yourself instead of my wife!" Henry snapped.
"Hypocrite." I mumbled under my breathe. "Your wife?" Martin asked Henry. "The Queen?" He asked again. I giggled. "You are so adorable." I told him while tapping his nose.
"So, what brings you here Your Majesties?" He asked while bowing low. "Apparently, my wife did not touch her food while she was at the Tower and we're here to make sure she has enough nutrition and is healthy." Henry explained.
"Of course Your Majesties. Right this way please." Martin said while leading us to a bed and picking up a peasent clothing which was thrown so carelessly at the floor and putting it on. "Lay here please, Queen Anne." He motioned to the bed and I complied.
He gave me a few tests and when he reached my belly, he furrowed his eyebrows as if confused while roaming his hands around my belly and putting pressure at certain spots, but not to hard. "What is it Martin? Is everything alright? Is she alright?" Henry questioned poor Martin.
"Nothing seems wrong Your Majesty, Her Majesty just needs more rest and she can't be put under stress for quite a while. Also make sure she is fed well with the best vitamins and nutrition. Make sure that she has the best care and treatment beffiting her title which is the Queen of England." Martin told him.
"And why is that?" Henry asked him while I rolled my eyes. "Your Majesty, I believe that Her Majesty is with ch-" And before he could finish his sentence I grabbed his arm rather harshly, gaining both the men's attention. I looked at him in a way that says 'don't' while shaking my head slightly. Martin furrowed his eyebrows once again, confused.
"Yes what was it you wanted to tell me Martin?" Henry asked. "It's nothing Your Majesty. I just think that the Queen Anne is with 'charms'," He said, emphasizing charms in replacement of child while slightly looking at me then back at Henry, "and confidence beyond belief which is not normal seeing that any person in general, after being held captive and released from any prison, should not act in such a composed behaviour.
I think that Her Majesty, seeing as she have never gotten any treatments as such, is in a traumatized state and is just very good at hiding it. Either get her to open up about her true feelings or treat her with the best care possible until the trauma goes away by itself." Martin ranted. When he was done, I took a sitting position.
I gave him a grateful smile but frowned once I realized what I made him do. I made him lie. And not just to anybody, I made him lie to his king, to his sovereign, to his monarch, his prince and to the Supreme Leader of his and the English Church. I feel extremely guilty. If Henry ever finds out, he could hang Martin for treason.
But why would Henry care anyways? He is to have his long awaited and the very much desired son and Prince of Wales from the wench Jane Seymour. Or so he says. It seems that as I dazed off into my own thoughts, Henry apparently have stretched his hands for me to take and coughed to get me back to reality.
I took his hands immediately and stood up and while passing Martin, I whispered him a 'thank you' while he simply nodded.
As we got out, I breathed a sigh of relieve. Phew, that was close. The secret is....almost out. Thank God for making Martin Dr. Linacre's replacement. Who knew? If it was anyone else, they would have blurted it out immediately for their allegiance to Henry. Who else, well except for Martin, would want to lie to Henry, a King of England, for a soon-to-be disposed queen that was put in the Tower and almost beheaded a few hours ago?
