Dear Louis,

I walked to the post office in my leggings and one of your sweatshirts that are too big for me, I hope you don't mind. I found Lella and lifted the key from around my neck I put the key in the lock and turned until I  heard a click. It opened to reveal a small brown box inside. I giddily picked it up and placed it on the ground so I could slip the key back around my neck. I pick up the small brown box and made sure that Lella was locked before jogging home.

After getting home I sat on the couch and slowly opened the box being as careful and gentle as possible. Inside the box was a smaller navy blue velvet box, my heart stopped. I suddenly became nervous. I picked up the small velvet box and closed my eyes opening it in the process. I slowly opened my eyes to see a silver ring  in the shape of an infinity sign, I slowly pick it up in awe to feel to bumps on the back of the ring. I turn around so I could see the back there were two stones, our birthstones.

A tear escapes from my eye and rolled down my cheek, I don't know if it was a happy tear or a sad tear. Probably a mix of both. I put the ring back the in the little box and saw two pieces of  paper in the bottom of the brown box. I set the velvet box down and pick up the pieces of paper. I read the first one and cried and the second one only made me cry harder.

I'm going to try to get some sleep, I haven't slept in 48 hours and I'm exhausted from all this crying. I hope you understand.

love,

your ella

ps. thank you so much for getting me the ring, it's beautiful. you did good
