Chapter 5
Jen got off her bed. She cried for more than an hour.
She still felt really bad about her fight with her mom and the letter she left made her just break down. It was so sentimental. But now that she is gone for a week with Nikki, She needed this time for herself. She got her phone from the nightstand on her right and dialed her best friend Tiffany's number. She hasn't seen or talked to her in a long time.
1 ring,2 rings,3 rings.
"Hey Jen! How are you? We haven't talked in SUCH a long time!" she said.
Tiffany was her usual cheerful self, and was happy to hear Jen's voice.
"Uhm, hi Tiff! Well... Me an my mom got into this really big fight earlier today and I left for a while, and then I came back about and hour ago and then I found a note saying that she went to Wisconsin with Nikki for both of us to cool off. I was wondering if you wanted to do
Something today." She said.
She hoped Tiff wouldn't be busy. She really needed to get her mind off of today.
A few moments later Tiffany replied with,"Right now I'm cleaning, but in about an hour at 8:30 come to my house and we can go to that Sushi place!"
She couldn't wait to see Jen again.
Jen was so relieved.
"Okay that sounds great! See you at 8:30!" I said.
Finally, She was going to take her mind off of this drama.
She ran upstairs to take a shower.
---------------------------------------------
As She walked out of the shower, She grabbed a towel and wrapped her long soaking wet hair up.
She grabbed another and used that on her body.
She blow-dried her blonde hair straight before anything else.
'What was I gonna wear?' She thought.
She walked into her closet And skimmed through her clothes.
She came across a super cute ruched mauve mini skirt, and paired it with a white flowy top.
She got dressed in those and lightly tucked the top into the skirt. She looked in the mirror. It was casual but cute.
She needed shoes so She went in her mom's closet and found a pair of strappy black. They fit her perfectly.
She looked through her jewelry box and came across a simple gold charm bracelet. Then she remembered. Her dad gave this to her for her 10th birthday, a few months after he left. She wanted to cry, but bit her lip and held the tears in. She put that bracelet on Her left wrist. She couldn't believe it still fit.
She went in the bathroom to do her hair and makeup.
She first did her hair, and braided it into a 5-way braid, which She learned to do from her friend Rose.
For makeup, she didn't want to overdo it so She just put foundation, mascara, and some light pink lipgloss on.
She looked at the final result in the mirror. She had to admit, She did pretty good hair and makeup. In general, She didn't think She looked pretty. But of course that was her opinion. She was bullied in elementary school, so She never thought She was good enough. Never did.
She lost track of time looking in the mirror and looked at her phone's screen.
'8:15 pm'
She sighed heavily in relief. She thought She was late!
She carefully went down the stairs, She didn't want to trip and fall!
She grabbed her keys, her phone, and purse and locked the house door. She unlocked her car and got in. Luckily, Tiffany only lived a few blocks away.
-------------------------------------------------
In a few minutes She was at Tiffany's house. Well, not house, apartment. She lived with her mom and dad. Her older brother who is now 19 moved out to go to college, but still visits. But the apartment Tifanny lived in was HUGE. It was as big as Jen's house. It had three bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. It even has a bigger kitchen than her house. Her parents were rich.
Jen walked up the few steps to her door. She would have died if She had to walk up all the way. Jen knocked on the door lightly. Tiffany quickly opened the door.
She was wearing black cropped skinny jeans that went higher than the ankle, a cute orange crop top that went just under her belly button, and white braided sandals. Her mid-length, dark brown hair was put up into a messy bun. She also had almost NO makeup on, exept for foundation, mascara, and a shimmery nude lipgloss, and had silver hoop earrings on.
She looked absolutely STUNNING. Jen was so jealous of her.
"Hey! You look so gorgeous!" Tiffany said.
Finally, after all this time, she saw Jen again.
Jen grinned and said "Oh stop! Look at you!"
Tiff grinned back and said "Thanks Jen! Wait one sec let me get my things..."
She walked in back inside and a few moments later she came back with her purse, phone, and keys.
No one was home but her.
"So who's car are we gonna use?" she asked.
"It doesn't matter to me!" Jen said.
"Okay then I guess we're using your car!" she screamed happily.
They went down the stairs and got into Jen's silver BMW, and drove off.
