Chapter 3

They walked up to the cashier person, which was a pretty brunette girl with blue eyes. She looked like she was in her 20's.

"Hello! What can I get you today?" she asked.

Jen ordered first.

"Well, I'll have a Grande Iced Caramel Latté. It's so hot in the summer here in Chicago!"

She smiled at Jen.

Liam was next.

"Well what can I get you sir?" she said.

She looked into his gorgeous eyes.

Liam smiled and looked up at the menú.

"Uhm... I think I'll have a Grande Mocha Coconut Frappucino. I hear it's good."

The cashier smiled to herself.

"It sure is! $8.67 please."

Liam didn't like anyone right now exept for Jennifer. He could tell this lady liked him, but He wasn't interested in her.

Jen looked at Liam. She knew he wanted to pay, but She couldn't let him. She wouldn't. It was Jen's fault that he dropped his coffee so She had to pay. Before She could give the cashier money, Liam slipped her a $10 bill. Jen gave him a stare.

'Why would he do that?' she thought. 'I was gonna pay!'

Liam glanced at her quickly, and She seemed to be thinking.

He knew that she wanted to pay but he just couldn't let her.

-------------------

They didn't speak to each other at all until all their drinks' were ready.

"Grande Iced Caramel Latté."

That was Jen's drink. She made her way to a boy with blue eyes and dirty blond hair. He looked 15 or 16.

He handed my drink over.

"Thanks!" She said.

He didn't say anything back.

He turned around to make the other drinks.

"Grande Mocha Coconut Frap." he said again.

That was Liam's drink.

He got up to get his drink.

Jen was about to leave when Liam came up to her.

"Where are you going?" he asked. Almost like he was dissapointed of her leaving.

But he didn't want her to leave. He wanted to know her more. Didn't everything happen for a reason?

"Oh. Home! And by the way, why did you pay for the drinks?" she asked.

She was still a little mad at Liam.

He smiled at her before saying,"It was really nice of you to offer to pay, but I just couldn't let you spend money on ME. Save that money for something better."

'Oh my gosh. This boy was so sweet. ' thought Jen.

"Thanks for thinking of me... But I really should have paid. Bye, Liam."

She smiled then opened the door to leave.

Someone grabbed her hand. She turned around to see it was Liam.

"Please don't leave!" he pleaded. "Let's just talk... Get to know each other better."

He really didn't want this girl to leave. He could tell she was special.

Jen looked at him for a moment, then She finally said, "Fine."

Liam's face lit up. He was so happy.

He smiled and then they sat at the nearest table. They talked about everything.

-----------------------------------

"Jen, you haven't told me about your family! I told you about mine, it's your turn!"

He smirked.

Jen remembered the reason She even came to Starbucks. Her mom.

"Well Liam, the only reason I came here today is because of my mom. We got into this fight because she always thinks I do nothing right. I mean she doesn't even appreciate that I do everything there is to do in the house! Cook, clean, wash dishes, wash clothes, and that type of stuff." he looked up at him. He was looking at her with sympathy.

He really did feel terrible for her. He couldn't imagine fighting with his mum over such a stupid thing.

"Oh Jen.." he paused for a moment. "Do you have any siblings? A dad?" he asked.

'Do I have a dad? I didn't see my dad ever since he left when my little sister was born.' she thought.

"I have a little sister, Nicole. We call her 'Nikki'. And my dad left right after she was born. I was 10."

She was about to cry, but held the tears in. She hasen't seen her dad in 7 years. She missed him SO much. No one ever knew.

She added, "Ever since he left, my mom just broke down. She's changed so much. She used to be so happy and carefree, and now she's a control freak. I feel so bad for her."

She looked up at Liam. He was almost crying.

"Liam." She said. "Are you okay?"

He looked at me, with a pout on his face.

He couldn't believe this happened to this girl. She didn't deserve this!

"I feel really bad about what happened to you. I really do. I hope you get to see your dad again."

He said.

"Thanks Liam." She said.

She added a small smile.

He smiled at her.

He would do anything to comfort her.

Jen finally looked at the time on her watch. It was 4:00 pm! She came here at 2:00! She had been here along with Liam for 2 HOURS. Oh my god.

"Uh I go to go. It's 4 and I came here at 2! I stayed here for 2 hours!Bye Liam, it was nice to meet you!

He looked at her confused.

'Why the hurry?' he thought.

"WAIT!" he shouted.

"What?" She said rnicely.

"Here's my number, text me anytime." he said.

He hoped he would see her again.

She stuttered for a second. LIAM gave her his number. This was probably the best day of her

life.

"Uh Okay! Bye Liam! Thanks for today!"

She Gave him a smile and a wink and headed out the door.

She started her car. She felt much better than earlier today.

She started to head home, not knowing what to expect.
