Y/N Two Fragments POV
May 7, 20XX

"Sans?"

I peer at the skeleton.

"Kid."

He pulled away from the 'hug'.

"Kiddo, don't do that again."

Grasping hold of my shoulders gently, he looks at me straight in the eye.

"Do what?"

I cock an eyebrow, unsure of what exactly our skeletal friend here meant.

"Just tell me whatever happens, okay? Tell me whatever is going on in that head of yours. I can tell you're hurting, I can feel it. Don't hold back. Don't make the same mistake I did."

"To tell you the truth kid, I'm sure you know this already, but I knew you before the reset. You probably already gathered that, but there are a lot you don't know. I can't tell you everything right now, however. It is not quite the right time. But... I can tell you this."

I decided to keep quiet and just simply listen, for the sake of, well, everything.

"There was some things I kept a secret from Y/N when she was... Well, you know. I thought I could protect her from it. From this, really. But I couldn't. I failed to do a simple task as even that. And for this I apologize, although that changes nothing. An apology will not bring Y/N back, right?"

"But I cannot put it off any longer. And neither can you. So please-- please, don't build a wall to hide behind. Stop putting up a barrier and pretending you're fine when you're not. I can see through it-- because I did the exact same thing, I do not want you to have to go through all of that all over again. Over and over and over. Reset after reset. Nothing changes, but it gets more and more painful."

"So please Buttercup, please stop holding back. You're going to end up shattering yourself on accident when you just can't take it anymore."

My grey orbs (with a splash of orange) widened in surprise. Obviously, this is not at all what I had anticipated!
I smile, nervous.

"You know what? You're-- you're right. I haven't been telling you everything, partially because I'm not quite used to speaking aloud on this kind of stuff. The other part? You knew Y/N, but you don't know me. I'm unpredictable. For all we know, our AU could glitch and Chara or one of the others could gain control and, well destroy. By know you should know the drill, Sans. I don't want to loose control, or something..."

"And I sense, of course, that I can trust you, but since I do not have the same memories and feelings as Y/N, it's... well..."

Sans looked as though someone had just stolen his entire stash of ketchup. I think he likes it for some reason?

"I understand. But you fear that you'll hurt someone, right? I get that feeling. But it doesn't you have to carry that burden all on your own, 'aight kiddo?"

A look of nostalgia flows throughout his face, but even so, the skeleton is doing his best to comfort me, even now.

Suddenly, (to entirely ruin the heartfelt moment), a waft of what smells like an unwelcoming scurr of... ashes? Is something burning?

"Do you smell that aroma of--"

"Yes."

"Is it--"

"Yes."

"Doesn't he know--"

"Long story short, not really."

"Should I--"

"Probably not the best idea."

"Good. Well, bye then!"

I scurry off towards the kitchen, all the while, Sans following me for good measure, since of course he could not stop me.

*snap!*

"I'm sorry, you were saying, Author-onēsan?"

Wait, what--

Uhm, I don't know what is happening, but what I do know is that I am levitating. Like, actually midair.

"Sans, what is happening?!"

I question, panicked, glancing down at a certain skeleton. His right socket is glowing and on fire, but this isn't just any inferno. It's blue flames.

"More importantly, are you ok? You're aflame, and you know what they say... 'Blue fire is the hottest fire'..."
I trailed off.
For some unknown reason, Sans sockets widened and his face lit up with an amazingly beautiful bright blue sprinkled across his face.
Little did I know.
But back to Sans.

He cleared his non-existent throat however that works.
"Magic."

Oh. Oh, ok.
No more is needed to be said.
Or, as more commonly spoken,
"*Beep* this *beep* I'm out!"

Quick side note:

What. Is. Happening. I don't even know what this means? It's probably good?
I mean, being ranked #3 in something is pretty good right?
But... This isn't even about art...
I dunno.
Anyhow. I'll stop wasting your time.
