I could only watch as Y/N and her fragments split after she used her magic. So that's what it is like, feeling powerless. Feeling as if you have no control over a situation.
What a horrid feeling. Can a skeleton feel?
Regardless, I cannot just stand here and watch. I was about to touch her "soul" before it faded away, but then I heard
"Goodbye Papyrus.
Thank you Sans."
And then her voice faded away. Why? Not just a why for the 'why would she thank me' but also a why for the 'why did sacrifice herself'? Why did she choose to cease to exist?
"Why did she give up."
It came out more as a statement than a question.
She gave it all up... Just like that?
No, no, no. There... there's gotta be a way to save her. It can't be too late. It just can't!
I take another glance at her soul. My eye sockets widen again.
She had no fragments left, they had already shattered. So now her soul was just a heart-shped hole, a dark abyss.
No... this means...
Well, what does it mean? Sadly, I actually don't know.
Papyrus suddenly broke the silence, as a few tears slowly dripped down the sides of my skull.
"SANS? ARE YOU ALRIGHT? WHAT HAPPENED TO THE HUMAN? DID YOU CAPTURE THEM?"
"No, Paps." I reply, maybe even a bit bitterly.
"She's gone. Gone for good." I continued, but then skidded to a stop.
For suddenly,
(Pineapples!!)
I heard a human trudging around in the snow. Oh no. What if they chose another genocide route?
I hastily teleport outside, despite my bro's quite loud complaints.
"SANS? WHAT DO YOU MEAN? AND WHERE ARE YOU GOING, BROTHER?"
His yelling echoed inside of my head, my guilt probably playing through, but I don't have time for that right now.
Right now I need to make sure--
