(A/N: Hey everyone! Just another one of those lonely nights where fanfic might help. I know I said I wasn't gonna come back to this, but AUGH I just love the kids so much! As an update of what I've been up to, I got a job, just finished up my schools production of Les Mis (I was Eponine! It was a blast) won a BUNCH of awards for photography, and making it to the NATIONAL LEVEL of one photo competition, and may get scholarship money if I win! That's why I had to put this on hold for awhile, I just had a lot on my plate, and this wasn't high up on my priority list. Now, what you ACTUALLY care about...)
Odessa had been eyeing her sister with suspicion the past couple of days. What was up with that girl lately? Aya hadn't been sleeping as much, and Odessa would catch her on the bass guitar writing songs at odd hours in the morning. This was the fifth night in a row where she had been awakened by muffled chords in the room over, and decided she had had enough nights of interrupted sleep. She grumbled before standing up to go over to her sister's bedroom. She sleepily barged into the room painted lavender by the pale moonlight.
"Dude, what the hell!" Aya yawned accusingly.
"I only came in here to say that if you're gonna play your bass guitar-"
"His NAME is Kyle!" Aya reminded her sister defensively.
"Well, if you're gonna play KYLE, can you at least plug headphones into the aux? Some of us actually enjoy sleeping at three in the morning, though I know you'd find that hard to believe." She laughed to herself.
"..Fine," The ocean-haired girl grumbled.
"Thank you. Have fun with that." Odessa gave a tired smile before turning around to go back to bed. Before she got the chance, however, she was interrupted.
"W-Wait!" Aya cried out, "I have a question." Odessa, intrigued, gave a small mischievous grin before sitting down next to her sister on her floral print duvet.
"Now, there's only two questions that I've known girls to ask their older sisters at 3 AM," The elder one laughed to herself. "And that's advice about love, or 'where the fuck did you put the tampons.'"
Aya sighed in defeat. "So there's this girl..."
The older of the two's face lit up with excitement. "So there's this girl..?" Odessa's silver hair shimmered across her beaming face.
"Well, I haven't known her that long, but she works at the coffee shop you got me a job at? Her dads run the place, and she gave me a free iced coffee after I landed the gig, and..." It was almost pitch black in the room, yet Aya's pale, freckled features had become noticeably scarlet.
"She's gotta be something special to turn you this red." The elder began to snicker, but quickly stopped when a quick and small fist had collided with her stomach.
"OW! You could of really hurt me, you know." Odessa stuck her nose up in the air, and let out a little 'hmph'. Aya, used to her older sister's dramatics, just rolled her eyes and laughed.
"Well, she gave me her phone number, and we've been talking. And I don't know if it's a 'hey I wanna date you' thing or a 'let's be best friends' thing." Aya groaned helplessly.
"Can't help you with being able to decipher if she wants you as a friend or a fuck, that isn't really my area of expertise," the later couldn't help but agree, ever since they were little Odessa had always had a way with boys, and usually used her gift to mess around before she eventually dropped one boy and moved onto the next. She continued. "I can, tell you, however, what girls like. It's always appreciated when someone goes out of their way to show they care or have been thinking about you."
"Yeah, but I can't just get a flash mob to hold up a sign that says "I don't know you that well but I think you're nice and have really great tits!" Aya chuckled nervously at the thought of the spectacle.
"You can't do any grand gestures now, but maybe send her a video of, I don't know, baby tigers or something and say 'this reminded me of you'. It's a subtle way to say she's been on you're mind. "
"Have I ever told you you're a genius?"
The elder laughed. "Thank you, but you still owe me big time for waking me up so early."
"I'll get you more essential oils, deal?"
"Sounds good to me," Odessa grinned. The two spent the next five minutes finding the perfect cute animal video before deciding on a cockatiel dancing. As soon as they hit send, the two parted ways and went off to bed.
Little did either of them know that Alyx was still awake, who grinned at the thought of being on Aya's mind.
