Amelia

1 week later

Since my window had been smashed, mum and I had been staying at grans, since she was on east, west couldn't do anything to us. Mikey decided he should also stay at his dads on north because of the conflict between him and Calum.

Thats the worst thing about this estate, the gangs control everything.

I waved my goodbyes to gran and walked out of the estate to meet Mikey to go into school, over the past week we had been doing this to stay extra safe. Neither of us had had any run ins with Calum yet, I don't even think he has turned up to school to be honest.

"Hi," he smiled as I walked up to him

"Hello, hows your dads?" I asked

"Fine, it's nice really because he's not in that often and he buys me pizza" Mikey laughed

"Well I'm loving it at my Grans," I replied

I still had to befriend someone on east to 'protect' us but so far I was doing ok.

I walked into psychology and sat in my seat next to Michael and took my books out.

"Irwin!" Michael shouts suddenly, I jumped and looked at who he was talking to, it was the boy who sits behind us and to the right, I've seen him in a few of my classes but have yet to learn his full name.

"Hey!" 'Irwin' said to Mikey, giving him a high five, I put my head down so I didn't have to speak to him,

"Hows life on north?" 'Irwin' asked Mikey

"Decent," He laughed

I was pretty confused as to how Mikey knew 'Irwin' and why he was being so nice as normally different quarters hate each other.

"I'll see you later" 'Irwin' said to Mikey, patting his shoulder and went to sit down.

I gave Mikey a questioning look

"He's my cousin" Mikey explained, dissolving my curiosity.

"Oooh," I said, "what's his name?" I asked.

"Aston Irwin, he lives on east" Mikey replied

"Are you being funny?" I asked him, he looked puzzled

"You'll have to introduce us" I laughed, "just so I can feel a bit safer living on east?" I felt bad saying that as it looked like I was trying to use him.

I wasn't going to use Ashton or anything, it would just be a good idea to have an ally.

"Is he in the gang?" I wondered, Mikey nodded.

"I'll introduce you in the cafeteria later," Mikey nodded just before the lesson began.

Again about halfway through the lesson, the same female teacher as last week brought Luke Hemmings in, I couldn't help but laugh at his face, he just looked so done.

"He started a fight with someone in my class Sir," the teacher said, Mr Oldham raised his eyebrows

"He was an east!" Luke protested

"I don't care Hemmings you can't just go around picking fights with people on a Monday morning," Mr Oldham sighed and looked towards the desk which I assumed Luke was more familiar with than he should be.

"Sorry Miss," Luke huffed as he sat down, the teacher flounced out of the room and the lesson carried on.

At lunch I sat with Mikey and he called Ashton over just as he promised and explained our situation

"Yeah I'll take care of you, is your gran Molly?" Aston said

"Yeah, she is, you know her?" I asked,

"Well I know of her," Ashton smiled,

Mikey, Ashton and I stayed together for the rest of lunch before I had to go to my first biology lesson as I had skipped last mondays one to get my head together after the whole Calum thing.

I walked in and noticed that the only seat left was next to Luke Hemmings, I sighed and put my lab coat on.

"Hey" he turned and said to me

"Hi," I replied "I'm Amelia" I began

"Yeah I know, everyone knows you now after what happened with you and Calum," Luke said bluntly. Well.

"I'm Luke by the way," he said

"Yeah, I know, you've been sent into my psychology lesson twice now, and you rudely pushed past me when you were leaving," I replied dryly

He ignored my comment and we sat in silence for the rest of the lesson. This is going to be great
