peter was frozen, he had been caught red handed and he sucked in a huge huff of air. his throat was almost closed being caterina was right in front of him, and she looked suprised but also heartbroken.
"peter what did you do!" she looked at the supplies on the counter the syringes with some of her medicine was gone down the drain. she was angry, she felt like she was about to explode.
"cat...i-" peter stuttered, "you better have a damn good explanation." she crossed her arms, "they're not making you yourself, this drug isn't good for you. suppressing your powers isn't good for you, so i've been working on re-dosing you to slowly wean off the drug. i need my cat back." he whispered looking her in the eyes. cat stiffened.
"maybe i don't want to be "your cat." maybe i want to keep people safe so i don't lose control." she snarled, peter was scared, he basically had done most of the re-dosing. "tony said, that he wanted you to stop. it's hurting you, it's hurting him, it's hurting me." he whispered, his voice breaking at the end. "who cares what tony thinks!? its none of his business!" she yelled.
caterinas arms were crossed and she let out a giant sigh before turning around, her head was aching and her legs felt like jelly. her whole body went numb and all she felt was rage.
rage towards peter, rage towards tony, rage towards general ross and anyone who had given her a chance to hate them.
her face was turning red and she let her arms fall to her sides, her fists clenched as she looked over her shoulder at peter, who had a pleading look in his eyes.
she didn't want to hurt him, or may.
that's why she started taking the medicine in the first place and she felt like she was going to explode if she stayed in this apartment any longer, so she grabbed her hoodie and ran out the door.
she felt so betrayed, how could peter do that to her, she trusted him. her entire life she had never trusted or felt this way about someone before, she liked peter, he made her feel some type of way that she read about in romance novels and movies. he gave her butterflies...he had been there for her when everything else was going terrible, she counted on him. she needed him, but he went and did this behind her back.
so she started to run, her legs burned and her lungs already ached but she couldn't stay there any longer. she knew aunt may would have questions and she kind of hoped peter would come after her, but there was also that hope he didn't. in the midst of the fiasco, she had forgotten her phone. she had no way of conatacting anyone. her hood was up and it had started to rain, sometimes she wondered if her emotions were in tune with the weather, and sometimes she believed it, truly.
cat had ended up at the park across town...the park was vacant, so she let out an ear piercing scream, she let out her frustration and when she threw her hand out she didn't anticpate the tree cracking. when she saw the crack in the tree she fell to her knees on the muddy ground and she started to cry, she cried until she could no longer feel her cheeks, the reddish tint growing even more apparent as she let the tears flow. she wanted her powers back but she didn't want the chance for them to get out of control.
she missed tony, she missed his stupid dad jokes and she missed peppers cooking...but she couldn't let go of the airport, it had left her broken and ultimately destroyed emotionally. she saw peters one sided texts but she also knew tony did not want to get attached to the kid just in case something happened. she looked up when the sky started to rumble, the thunder came fast and then the lightining.
the hair on the back of her neck stood up and she started the long walk back to the apartment. she hoped peter was there, she wanted to apologize to him, and tell him she agreed, she wanted to stop the meds. she would just have to work extra hard to control her powers. her hoodie was soaked and the water sloshed in and out of her shoes, her converse were worn and her feet ached. she kept her eyes down at the sidewalk and rubbed her nose when she sniffled, her body shivered and she looked up at the bright lights of queens. she was so lucky to live with people she cared about, but she also was lucky to have peter...
when she arrived back at the apartment, the lights were off, but she could see peters shadow in the living room window, "pete..." she whispered before he turned around, "mays asleep..." he mumbled, "i'm sorry...for earlier..." she crossed her arms and she slipped off her shoes, peter noticed how drenched she was, "no i'm sorry, i shouldn't have gone behind your back like that. it was out of line...but cat, i just want you to be the girl i met at the airport, strong, independent, badass...ever since you started taking the meds it's been less and less."
"peter i'm so scared, i hate feeling this way, its like a blackhole, i can't keep feeling this way peter, i just can't. the pain is unbearable..." she let a few tears out and peter quickly crossed the living room, he gripped the sides of her face, and wiped a few tears away, over the course of six months, the pair had gone through a lot..."peter..." she whispered, "yeah?"
"thank you." she whispered, "for what?" his hands were still on her face, "for being here even when i was a total asshole and douche to you..."
peter smiled before hugging her tightly, "i'm so glad you're okay and that you came back...now can you please change, i don't need you getting sick." she pulled away from the hug and sneezed, her nose crinkling up, "too late."

okay im eager to finish this book because i have such a beautiful plan for cats infinity war arc and i must get to it!!
also i've been gaining inspo gradually and slowly so be patient, this will take some time.
