After the whole "incident" with the bike crash, blood, and patching up, Kira had not seen Liv since. It was kinda disappointing, actually. Kira had made sure to ride her bike (no, she had not learned her lesson) by her house on multiple occasions, hoping to see her. Kira had also been hoping they could become friends, seeing how Kira was new to the neighborhood and all, but she guessed it maybe just wasn't meant to be. So much for "see you around".

Summer was over now and that meant that school was starting back up again. By this time, Kira had given up almost all hope of ever seeing Liv again. I mean, what were the chances that they went to the same school? Or that they had the same classes? Sure, if Liv did go to the same school, they could see each other in the hallways, but where was the fun in that? Because of this, all Kira could so was give up. She had other things to worry about, after all. Kira was entering her last year of high school. Sure, she might have been worried about her classes, but there were other things too. Like, friends, for example. Or, rather, the lack thereof. Since things apparently hadn't gone well with Liv, Kira was especially nervous about whether she'd be able to get along with her peers. She just hoped she'd be able to fit in, being the new girl and all.

Her first class of the day was a criminal studies one. As she made her way through the hallway, she couldn't help but feel her nervousness slowly rising, and hoped nothing would go wrong.

She found her first class, Criminal Justice, and paused right outside the door. She took a couple of seconds to calm down, and pushed open the door. Immediately, she was greeted with the loud noise of several conversations taking place between multiple people. There were several groups or students all gathered around different tables towards the front of the class, and they were all talking among themselves.

"Ahh.." Kira thought, "I guess everyone would have their own little groups by now."

She decided she'd sit near the back as to not bring too much attention to herself. Kira slowly makes her way to the back of the classroom and finds an empty table. Each table only fits two chairs, so she picks the one nearest to the window. She sets her things on the table, pulls out her chair, and sits down. She can't help but feel disappointed that it won't be as easy to make friends as she had hoped for. With a sigh, she puts her head down.

"This is harder than I thought it would be," she mutters.

---

The classroom is almost full when her teacher walks in. The students that were loitering around other tables quickly make their way back and sit down. Now, almost all the seats that were empty have been filled. There are only a few left, including the one next to Kira. She rests her head on her hand and eyes the seat, trying to ignore the fact that no one chose to sit with her and instead turns her focus on the teacher.

Her teacher introduces herself as Ms. Jefferson, and goes over a few of the classroom rules. As she's talking about how grades will be taken, Kira notices the classroom door discreetly open and someone slip in. They keep their head down and walk fast, trying not to be seen, Kira figures. The person almost makes it to the back of the class before the teacher looks up an calls them out.

"I'm sorry, did you need something?" she asks.

The person freezes, sighs, and lifts her head up.

Kira silently gasps.

"Sorry I'm here so late, teach. I kinda overslept?"

Just as Kira had thought upon seeing her figure, it was Liv!

"Overslept, huh. On the first day?" Ms. Jefferson asks her.

"Seems so," Liv sheepishly responds.
