"Now boarding flight 45 to New York City." The intercom over head seemed to burst through all the noise and bustle of the people throughout the airport.

"And there it is. Hurry I don't want to miss it." my mom said as she picked up her bags and began to walk off.

"This is so exciting, New York City! We are going to live in New York City!! 'It's not just a city it's a whole new world' " my sister Karen said quoting her cliche lockscreen. Karen was your typical teenage girl. She was what you would call the popular Starbucks loving fangirl. Like every teenage girl she had this idea of what she was supposed to be and what she was supposed to do as a teenager like trespass on land smoke weed (but never too much) yanno all the rebellious things. But that wasn't who she was.

"Hurry girls we have to catch up with your mom" my dad said taking my sisters bag full of magazines to read on the flight.

We finally caught up with my overly worried mom. Here's the thing about my mom she has to be in control and everything has to go exactly as planned. "Everyone has their tickets bags and everything? Karen where's your bag?"

"Dad has it"

"Ok. Good now you go here," my mom said trying to arrange us in the order on our tickets.

"Mom calm down relax everything is going as planned" I said putting a hand on her shoulder.

"Your right honey I'm sorry " she said putting her bags at her feet taking a breath.

Before I knew it we were walking onto the plane. I made my way to a window seat and Karen followed and sat in the seat next to me. I could already here my parents having a delightful conversation in the seats behind us.

Karen and I arranged our carry-ons comfortably under our seats. She then pulled out the latest issue of seventeen magazine and immediately became sucked into "tips on how to become the sexiest summer you". I turned my eyes out the window in order to avoid being that awkward person who watches the people file into the plane. The rest of the flight was filled with the reading of "The End" my favorite zombie apocalypse book.

The day after settling in I woke up to the sounds of car horns blaring aggressively outside my window. I guess that's going to be another thing I have to get used to here in NYC. I just laid there in my bed for about ten minutes watching the many cars on the street below going by and the people that are always in a rush to get where they have to go.

I finally got up and decided to take a walk to Central Park with my book. I left a note on the counter and walked out the door with everyone still sleeping.

When I got to the park I sat on a bench with people picnicking nearby thinking if I get kidnapped that nice family would be able to do something about it.

I got through a whole chapter before bringing my eyes up. I looked around and tried to imagine everyone I saw as a zombie.

I stopped once I found this guy looking right at me. He looked about 17 (a year older than me) and was quite attractive. I quickly brought my eyes back to my book thinking it was just a coincidence. You know the way two people just look around and just happen to meet eyes for a second and one ends up thinking more about it then the other.

I looked back after about 2 minutes and his eyes were still on me. His what I assume brown eyes seemed to have a smile of their own as they looked into mine. His hair was brown and had a nice slight curl to it. Even though he was sitting you could tell he was tall compared to his friend beside him.

His friend not as attractive but he still had a sort of cute to him. His friends hair was short blondish and his eyes were I think light green or blue I couldn't tell.

I just kept looking down at my book and tried to get to the next chapter without distraction. When I looked back up after like two chapters he was gone.
