The next whole week passed in a blink with me just sitting on the bed and being stuffed up every 2 hours. I guess I have gained atleast 10kgs weight in the last week. No one in the house was still talking to me except Manik, who just used words to shut me up. Abhimanyu, Aryaman , Soha and Navya paid a visit every second day. Every time they came they used to bring some fruits for me and make me eat them forcefully. In this one week I came to know about so many new fruits that were available in the market.
Today Dr. Sheela would come for a check-up at home. I should convince her to declare me fit enough to at least walk around the house and stop this food atyachar (torture) that people in my house were trying to impose on me.
"come doctor... this way..." I heard Manik's voice and I just hid my laptop under my pillow and covered myself with the duvet and closed my eyes tightly. Manik would ban my phone and laptop if he sees me working and I didn't want that. I was already getting bored to death if he takes them away ill be mad due to boredom.
"Oh I think she is sleeping... let me wake her up" he told her sweetly and I frowned... mujhse toh aaise baath nai karta (he doesn't talk to me this sweetly).. huhh... I pouted sadly.
"sweety wake up... see who has come to see you.." he said kissing my forehead softly but I didn't budge.
"I know you are up... stop acting and wake up or else you know me" he whispered sternly in my ear and next moment my eyes were wide open which made him smirk. I sighed, this monster tricked me again. He helped me sitting on the bed and surrounded me with pillows to make me feel comfortable. My monster husband is such a great actor... I mentally rolled my eyes at his 'I am a very good husband' acting. He is a good actually he is the best husband anyone could get but he is also a monster in human form.
"baby you need something ?" he asked me as I was giving him blank looks and once I processed his words I nodded my head in a yes forst then a No and again a Yes. The doctor and the monster chuckled and he asked cupping my cheek
"what does my baby want to eat ?" to which I made a bad face
"chocolate ice cream" I said in a low tone and he closed his eyes, may be to control himself in front of his family doctor.
"but you are not well" he said in a helpless tone looking at my sad face and it brought tears in my eyes. Why does he has to be so difficult?
" are are... why is such a cute doll crying... Manik go and get a big bowl of ice cream for her... go" the doc sent him away and I smiled widely.
"thank you so much aunty... this monster and his gang didn't let me touch Ice cream from last 7 days despite knowing the fact that I love ice cream more than I love Manik" I sadly told her and she pulled my cheeks... hehehe I know I'm cute but this lady was equally cute which made me so happy.
"chalo... lets get down to business... lets start the checkup..." she said taking out her stethoscope and few other instruments. Meanwhile Manik came into the room with a tub of my favourite choco almond ice cream and I was on cloud 9. Ice cream after one week... aaiyappa I love you. Manik just forwarded me the box and spoon and I opened my mouth which was a clear signal for him to feed me. He sat beside me and fed me.
"I'll send the blood reports by evening" Sheela aunty said and I frowned, when did she take my blood that she could send a report.
"Back to serious questions" she said gaining my attention and I turned to her.
"Nandu beta, when is your period due" she asked me and I frowned.. what has this to do with my weakness. I picked my phone from the side table and opened my period tracker... aaiyappa... it was due long back.. then why didn't I get that nasty thing
"Nandu.." Manik broke my self talk and I looked at her all confused
"Aunty its due long back... I think its almost a month I didn't get them" I told her and she nodded as if she understood everything and made a 'hmm' sound. Maniks grip on my hand tightened.
"Beta you are pregnant" she said and I was shocked... no shock would be an under statement to what I felt at that moment... I was happy, I became emotional, I just didn't know what to say. I was searching for words to speak but nothing came out. Tears formed in my eyes and I turned to look at Manik. My world, my everything. He had a huge smile on his face. Happiness was evident in his eyes.
"Ma..Manik... i.. I am... pre..pregnant... our.. our child... oh my god" I spoke broken words and hugged him tightly and I started crying again. I was so so so happy that I didn't have words to describe my happiness.
He gently broke the hug and kissed my forehead and wiped the tears so gently as if I am a glass doll.
"yes baby.. yes we'll be proud parents in 7 months... baby thanks for giving me the best gift in life... I'm so happy.." he said and kissed my cheeks lovingly and I closed my eyes to soak in the happiness. My hand went to my stomach where our baby was there... our baby... mine and Manik's baby...
I was so lost in the moment that I didn't realise that Dr Sheela was still present in the room. She cleared her throat to gain our attention and I blushed realising that she witnessed everything that happened few moments back.
"umm.. sorry aunty... vo ... I was.. I just..." Manik stammered his face all flushed and red because of embarrassment.
"you both are so cute..." she said pulling Manik's cheeks and he looked so adorable that I laughed looking at his face.
"You do one thing... come to my clinic tomorrow we'll do a thorough check-up and after seeing the reports I'll prescribe necessary medicines" she said and got up with a smile and even Manik got up.
"baby eat the ice cream and I'll take aunty to the main door" he said and I nodded my head obediently . he got up from the bed and left the room. The very next moment everyone entered the room and congratulated me. They were so happy but I was busy eating the ice cream.... Umm I know its rude but I had 2 reasons for doing so: 1. They all ignored me for one whole week and 2. I was hungry and badly craving for ice cream. So my actions are justified.
After few minutes Manik walked into the room with a bowl of fruits and my eyes widened seeing the size of the bowl. It was huuugggeeeeee. With that life size bowl in his hand he came and sat beside me and took me in a side-hug kissing my forehead.
"I told you to buy more kiwi's... its good for pregnant ladies..." Navya said with an accusing look towards Cabir and he rolled his eyes in response. Wait what ? they all got to know about my pregnancy now but how come Navya was telling Cabir that kiwi's were good for my health... did I miss something ?
*** I know thoda chotu pdate hai... but you'll get another one tomorrow na.. then I'll compensate*** Please have patience... and apologise for the delay.... I was feeling so tired yesterday that I couldn't update... but pakka tomorrow I'll update a big chapter :)
