blue
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*it was a friday afternoon; jimin, jungkook, taehyung, namjoon and hoseok had all skived the last few hours of the college day join me and jin at the beach being as it was so hot. i knew that jimin and taehyung was coming but i wasn't expecting a whole damn party. but then again, who am i to say who can and can't come?
"come in namjoon!" i heard jin scream from the sea at namjoon who was sitting on the picnic blanket along with me and jimin, hoseok sitting on the sand drawing in his book as per usual.
"ugh guess i can't say no. you coming jimin? yoongi? hoseok?"
"nah i'm fine here, go ahead." i laughed and waved my hand at him, dismissing him.
"i'll come with you!" jimin cheered as he raced namjoon to the sea.
today the salty water was blue. it started off as a light blue at the shore, slowly turning into a dark shade of blue the further you looked. the sun glistened on the body of water, making it look like you had just put a glittery blue bath bomb in your bath. it wasn't grey like jimin's or anyone else's eyes, today it was different. today it was blue.
"you're gonna get sand all in your clothes, come sit on the blanket." i patted the end of the picnic blanket, speaking to hoseok as we were the only ones left here whilst the rest were in the sea.
"um i'm okay." he replied, not removing his eyes from whatever he was sketching. i stared at the glittery blue sea once more before standing up and walking to the other side of hoseok and sitting down on the sand besides him. i noticed how he tensed up at first before he flicked furiously through his pages until he landed on a blank one, staring at it like it held more then just nothing.
"hoseok right? i don't think we've met properly." i asked, hoping he would look up at me, but to no convey he carried on staring at the blank page.
"oh err yeah. you're yoongi right?" hoseok's vision finally shifted from his book to the aqua blue sea in front of us and i did the same.
"yeah, that's me. the one and only." he laughed a bit at my statement and i felt heat rising to my cheeks, but i blamed it on the sun.
"so i heard you're a art major? how you finding that?" i was about to add 'i never see you without a your book and some type of drawing device' to my sentence but that would make it seem like i'm always watching him. which i'm not.
"it's okay i guess. tiring, but okay. i kinda bought it on myself for choosing it." he chuckled lowly and i kinda felt sorry for him.
"i understand. i dropped out of school when i was sixteen because i couldn't take the stress. so i understand. just don't over work yourself. it's good to take a break now and then."
"thanks yoongi." i looked over to him and he was smiling to himself, his eyes closed as he swayed unintentionally, listening to the sounds around him. i found myself smiling too before turning back to face the sea.
"what did you major in?" hoseok asked and for a second my mind was completely blank and at ease so it took me a while to answer.
"music, its where i met jimin."
"ah, college romance?"
"yeah." i laughed at the cheesy phrase that left his mouth.
"soulmates?" he asked and it felt like he ripped my heart out of my chest, stamped on it and gave it me back.
"no..."
"oh... i'm sorry for asking." he dropped his head down, staring at his legs that were crossed together with his art book resting neatly on top.
"it's okay. have you found your soulmate?"
"not yet. i prefer it this way."
"why?"
it grew silent for a while, and as much as i wanted it to be awkward for some reason it wasn't.
"hey kids!!" taehyung cheered as they all walked out from the sea, the sun that was setting now turning the blue liquid a shade of orange.
"i should get going. bye guys." hoseok said before walking away with his art supplies, so fast that i couldn't even remember his presence.
