Lavaliere

Ellen's two friends, Monica She and Demonica Ban, looked like the rest of the town. Thin and short,long, coal black hair, gray tinted skin, and that peculiar lavaliere. They usually came in at least 10 minutes late to school, so when they came in late this monday morning, Ellen was not surprised. When they came in,they were just starting eehsnab's pledge, "Eehsnab, Eesnab, Eehsnab, kill dog, let the lived live", it was a strange pledge, but like most things, Ellen never questioned it. Monica and Demonica, then dropped their geranium backpacks, their pendants hung down as they did it, and in that second Ellen's curiosity filled to it's limit and she asked herself,' what are those pendants really for?', so she decided she would ask them at break time. When break time came along, Ellen hurriedly found her 2 friends and got straight to the matter, " what are those pendants for?" Ellen inquired Monica, pointing her finger at Monica's glowing necklace. Monica scooped it up to her chin " oh these" she said in her slightly musical voice " they are for a secre-" she was interrupted by Demonica elbowing her in the chest and saying hurriedly " oh, they were on sale a few years ago and someone got them for the whole town"

Ellen stared at the two girls, smiling with their slightly creepy smiles. " But, that doesn't make any sense." Ellen started" why does everyone have them, including my mom, but me and my dad have none?". This question was obviously unanswerable for the 2 girls because they stared at her, their smiles gone and bowed their head slightly and said symmetrically " because your different" at that second, their amulets glowed brighter then they ever had before. They shook their heads and looked at each other, their amulets returning to normal, and then they looked back at Ellen. Ellen only had 3 words sitting on the edge of her tongue. And she said them, " What the heck" and break time was over.
