4 - Normally I Would Freak Out, But The Kidnappers Were Chill

I sat in silence, the police were talking amongst themselves. There were four in total. First there was the driver, a big, buff, scary-looking guy. He was tall, with brownish-orange hair. He didn't speak much, but when he did, his voice was deep. Then there was the girl sitting on my left. She seemed to be a cheerful one, with long brown hair. She had dark eyes with a playful gleam. Next, there was the girl on my right. She had red-brown hair, pulled back into a bun. Under her glasses, her eyes were blue, and she had dark red lipstick on. And then there was the man in the passengers seat. He was scary. He was almost bigger than the guy driving. He had slicked back light brown hair that touched his shoulders, along with a small scruff beard. He had... yellow eyes? His eyes locked with mine in the mirror.

"You sure are quiet back there, aren't you, Mr. Palmer?" He said, his voice was also deep, but it was a smooth kind of deep.

I looked at my feet. "Anything I say can, and will, be held against me." I mumbled.

He laughed. The rest of the officers, except the girl on my left, hid small smiles. The girl on the left just grinned.  "Wow, kid, you're a smart one aren't ya?" He said. "If I didn't know any better, I would've thought this wasn't you're first run-in with the law! But, hey, I'll let you in on a little secret. I hate to disappoint you, but... We aren't police officers."

My eyes narrowed in confusion. "What?"

He chuckled. "You heard me, kid. My name is Ruth. Big guy over here? That's Jax. Red-haired girl over there? That's Kenna. And that's Nirae," He pointed to the girl on my left. "This is my team."

"So... I've been... Essentially kidnapped?"

"Pretty much. You know, I think I'll explain the details later. The thing is kid, we've been keeping an eye on you for a while. In cased you haven't realized, you're not a normal kid."

"You mean you know what's wrong with me?" I asked, hopefully.

"Of course we do!" Ruth said, looking over to Kenna like he needed confirmation on how stupid the question was. "And we deal with people like you. People like us."

"Y-you mean you're like... me?"

He nodded. "We've been through it all, kid. The anger. The pure rage. Everything. Although, I don't think we've had a case like yours before... But that's besides the point."

"Well, tell me then, what's wrong? Why is this happening?" I asked, leaning forward.

He shook his head. "I told you I'll explain later. Let me tell you this, though you probably don't care, that guy you attacked earlier, what was his name? Julian? He's doing fine, and he won't remember a thing about your... 'Outlash'. He somehow was able to talk with your therapist and gather previous troubles you've done. He called the police, trying to get you in the biggest trouble he could. What a jerk, if only he knew, huh? Anyway, what he didn't know is that, well, we knew about everything. We were able to hack into the call, police weren't called, but we were instead. And y'know, you can take it from there," He said, picking up a drink, I think it was sprite, and took a sip.

"How long have you been watching me?..."

"Ah, uh-... that is a good question..." His eyes narrowed as he thought for a while before turning to Kenna. "How long?"

She looked up from her tablet that she had been working on. She gave him a small shrug.

He turned back to me. "We'll say a month-"

"Longer," She said.

"Month and a half..."

"When... exactly are you planning on explaining things?" I raised an eyebrow.
