Chapter 12

We drive and drive and drive and I realize that I left my phone on. My phone buzzes with notifications.

Mom 🙄🙅: WHERE R U.
Mom 🙄🙅: WHEN I FIND U U R DEAD (Y/N).

I turn off my phone and leave my mom on delivered it's what she deserves. "Where are we going" I ask Felix and just then we turn into an hotel. "We'll stay here for the night then figure it out tomorrow morning" he says and I nod "you have money?" He asks and I nod again taking out some from my backpack. "Aight we'll split it 50/50" he says and we take our things and head inside. Felix says that we can't risk getting tracked down so we use different names. He calls himself Austin McArthur and the employee says "Mr. McArthur sir I need to see your ID since this hotel only allows those 18+ to rent a room" and I mentally gasp. I start to panic but just then Felix takes out his wallet and a fake ID. The employee takes it, types in some numbers, then gives it back. He tells us we're on the third floor, room 9. When me and Felix walk down the hallway i ask "where did u get that ID" and he says "I use it to get into that bar down the road from the school" and I am absolutely shocked. What else don't I know about him. We get to the room and his phone starts to go off too with texts and calls from his dad and from some friends. As I start to wonder about my mom she texts me again saying that she will find me. I am scared. If she finds me I am toast. I tell Felix I am going to sleep and he calls me a nerd but then says ok and lets me sleep on one of the two beds. I hear him turn on the T.V. and although he turns the volume down I hear the news reporter say "Parents of two teens attending (School Name) are worried sick trying to find their children. If you live around the area, please be on the look out for Felix Lee and (Y/N) (Y/L/N). There has been a witness who states that they saw the two together in a car heading out of town alone. Here are photographs of the teens. If you see either of the two please contact the local authorities. Thank you" then he turns off the T.V. and he sighs. "I'm taking a shower" he says since he knows I'm still awake and he goes to the bathroom. I really want to sleep but I can't right now. I grab my backpack and look at my notebook. I have nothing to write in it. My book that I brought sounds interesting though so I read some of it even though I've read it before. After 10 pages, my eyes feel heavy and I start to feel sleepy........

Felix P.O.V

I get out of the shower and as I check my hair I see (Y/N) sleeping. She is holding a book in her lap what a nerd. I don't want to disturb her but I have things to do.. I need to text my friends telling them that I won't be at school to not worry them. I text one of my friends then a few others saying that I won't be at school. I start to see replies but I don't open them because I have a feeling most of them will be about why I was missing and on the news. I decide it's time to sleep to forget about all this so I go to sleep on the bed nearest to the door.
