It had been about a year and a half since i visited home. I joined the Marines when i 18 and then was deployed to Iraq for that year and half. When i joined i left behind a lot. The fame, the movie and show deals, that nice life, my family but then again i have no regrets.

I had only boyfriend Ruben & my 2 close friends Cesar and Jamal.

"This is it Reyes! We're going home!" i said talking to my Marine bestie, Hunter Reyes. We were on a train headed back home after the 4 years of being put through hell.

I met Hunter at boot camp. Conveniently he was one of the few people that didn't know what movies or shows i had been in. and i loved that so we instantly became best friends.

"Awww look at you. All happy to get back to your Hollywood boyfriend and your Hollywood friends and your Hollywood lifestyle." he said letting his head hit the wall of the train.

"Oh shut up." i said nudging his arm playfully "I'm gonna go home, shower for as long as i want with scolding hot water, wear something that isn't combat-boots ,even though i absolutely love them, & i'm gonna eat some In-N- Out burgers."

"Just don't forget me Y/L/N." he took a swing of the coke he held in his hand.

"I won't forget about you Reyes. I'll fly you down to California every two months." i assured him with a smile. I heard a light chuckle then let my head rest against the train wall.

we sat back and waited to see our family back home. Next stop: San Fransisco, California

"We will be arriving to San Fransisco, California in 5 minutes." the woman on the intercom announced.

Reyes shook me awake from my slumber.

"Y/N wake up. We gotta go." he whispered

Once i realized what was happening i shot up from where i was sitting and raced out the train with Reyes in my rear with my bags.

i step out and see dozens of people reuniting. I ran around trying to find Jason and the boys, i ran around like a chicken with its head cut off, finally out of breathe i gave up. My heart sank. tears began to form in my eyes. I stopped and sulked at the thought that they forgot about me. Hunter walked over to me and gave me that what's the matter now look.

"They didn't come for me..." i choked.

"Y/N..." Reyes tried to get me to shut up.

"They don't care for me..." i began to feel a lump in my throat.

"Y/N." Reyes repeated now annoyed.

"You think they hate me?" i asked with sad eyes.

"Y/N!" Reyes barked to get my attention.

"What?" i looked up at him.

He smiled then grabbed ahold of my face and turned it to the direction where three guys were standing. My three guys . Cesar had his phone out recording , Jamal was watching Ruby with a smile, & i will tell you Ruben looked beyond nervous.

my face lit up. i ran as fast as i could to Ruby, he noticed me hurdling towards him and his smile went from ear to ear.

I screamed as i threw myself into Ruby's arms. i held me tightly, spinning in circles,burying his face in my neck, not wanting to let me go.

My heart felt as if it were to burst out of my chest.

Once he finally stopped spinning me i gave him a long awaited kiss.

He put me down with one last peck.

"God you don't know how long i've been waiting for that." he sighed

"I'm guessing a year and 6 months?" i joked.

"You look hot in uniform." Ruby acknowledged.

"Aha. Thanks." i said sarcastically striking a pose.

i walked over to my friend Jamal and squeeze him tightly rocking back and forth.

"I missed your cute thang, Y/N" Jamal laughed

"I missed you too bubba" i responded with a soft smile.

I finally made my way over to my best friend, Cesar, who was still recording. he passed the phone to Jamal and then wrapped me up in his arms. He began to kiss my cheek repeatedly.

"I haven't been this happy to see you since that lock down in 8th grade." he laugh letting me go.

"welp then again it wasn't my fault that you were in Mexico the time i was down." i scolded.

I hadn't seen Cesar in almost 3 years because he was away visiting some family in Mexico when i came down to visit everyone. He sighed.

"Hey Y/N, You dropped a paper." Jamal chuckled suspiciously. He handed the phone back to Cesar still recording.

"What paper?" i questioned looking around the floor. A piece of folded up white paper was laying on the floor right between Jamal and I.

"That's not mine." i said raising my eyebrow at them. They all had guilty smiles on them.

"Well it fell outta your pocket." Cesar insisted.

I open the paper to find the words Will you marry me? in sloppy handwriting. A huge smile grew on my face. I had a feeling i knew what was going on but i wasn't too sure.

"what the heck is th-" i questioned turning to the boys thinking this was some kind of joke. But was interrupted by the sight of Ruben on one knee and a black box in his hand.

"oh shit." i whispered as my eyes got wide and my heart started beating faster every second, my hands got sweaty, and i felt like i couldn't breathe.

"In 3rd grade there was this new girl in school." Ruby began with a huge smile "She was this short , brown haired, hazel eyed, piggy laughing child. She wore the same furry pink tiara and bedazzled light up shoes everyday till middle school. You were amazing and from the first day i met you i knew that one day i'd make you my wife. In 6th grade i shared my first kiss with you and i swear to you our future flashed before my eyes. You and I and two beautiful kids, not twins of course." He joked knowing how much of a handful his twin siblings were. "Freshman year you said you couldn't be with me because you weren't safe. You were in a gang and you didn't want me getting caught in the debris of it all...welp Y/N... it's been 8 years and i'm still okay. We finally got together that one night i snuck into your room. We graduated together beside all our friends. we had a lot of ups but plenty of downs. You went to the Marines and while you were gone i realized that there was a slight chance you wouldn't come back. And every night i'd lay awake scared to death that something might happen to you... just like you were with me all through high school. But when i was laying there absolutely mortified i thought to myself in what way am i able to keep you for the rest of eternity? I could take your soul but that was too much so i thought of the next best thing: Marriage. So Y/N Y/L/N will make me the happiest guy in this damn universe and let me change your name?" He asked opening the small black box to reveal a beautiful diamond ring.

At this point everyone around us was watching silently waiting to hear my answer.

i bit my lip then answered the question i had always wanted to hear.

"Yes."

Everyone cheered and whistled. Ruby placed the ring on my finger then kissed me. At that moment i couldn't be happier. Nothing else in the world mattered, just him and i.
