"Louis, time for bed!" I shouted, opening the door to his room. I smirked as I noticed his little feet sticking out from under his bed. The soft sound of his giggles filled the room, making me smile. "Gotcha!" I spoke, dragging him out.

"Mama!" Louis screamed, laughing as I carried him over to bed. I tucked him into the blankets and kissed his forehead, sitting next to him. "When will Chris be home?" He wondered before a yawn took over him.

"Tomorrow night," I sighed, watching as a look of disappointment spread across his face. He had missed Chris so much the past week, even though he didn't like to admit it, but I knew. The feeling was mutual.

"Night. Love you," Louis muttered, closing his eyes.

"I love you," I whispered back, bending down to kiss him one last time. I stood up and closed his door behind me, stripping off my clothes as I walked to the bathroom. "Ugh," I groaned when I noticed myself in the mirror. I looked miserable.

My hair was in a mess, there was horrible bags under my eyes, and my face was drawn in. The sooner Chris returned home, the better. I needed him right now.

I turned on the shower and stepped in, moaning in pleasure as the hot water ran down my body, relaxing me. My head rested against the wall as I closed my eyes, thinking of Chris. I really fucking missed him. The water began to run cold so after washing myself, I stepped out, wrapping a towel around my body.

I walked back into my bedroom and dried off, getting changed into one of Chris' large t-shirts. I held it up to my face and took a deep breath, grinning as I realised it smelt just like him. I crawled into my bed and wrapped the blankets around myself, closing my eyes.

My phone began to ring, making me sit up. I looked at the screen and smiled happily as I noticed it was Chris. He called just on time.

"Sandy," he whispered as soon as I answered. I was glad to know that he was missing me as much as I was missing him.

"Hey," I replied, lying back down.

"How are you?"

"Miserable," I said honestly, making him laugh. "What about you?"

"Same here."

"Louis misses you. He hasn't shut up about when you'll come back since you left," I explained, coughing as tears gathered in my eyes.

"I miss him, too. I miss both of you, but I'll back tomorrow, right?" Chris laughed nervously, making me raise my eyebrows. He sounded like he was lying, which confused me. What the hell was going on?

"I love you," I spoke, putting that thought to the back of my head.

"I love you, too." Chris replied, just before something loud in the background masked the sound of his voice. It sounded like people speaking, but he was in his hotel room... I didn't understand.

"Where are you?" I wondered.

"Uh...I have to go," He said all of a sudden. "I'll see you later."

"Wait, Chris!" I hissed just as he hung up. I groaned and threw my phone to the floor, laying back down on my bed. I was extremely confused. What was he lying about? My stomach turned with that thought and so I quickly concentrated on getting some sleep.

I was just about to dose off when my bedroom door slowly creaked open, and the sound of Louis' feet hitting against the floor filled the room. I stayed still and grinned as he crawled up into my bed, laying down next to me.

"What are you doing awake?" I whispered, making him jump in surprise. He giggled as I wrapped my arms around his small body and pulled him closer to me, kissing him.

"Can I sleep with you?" He asked, wiggling his body next to mine.

"Sure. Now get to sleep," I ordered, closing my eyes. He didn't reply as we both fell into our own slumber...

"Mama!" Louis shouted, shaking me harshly. My eyes flashed open as I took in my surroundings, realising that something was wrong. Very, very wrong. "I'm scared!" Louis screamed over the alarms.

Someone was in the house. Again.

It was just like my dreams, but the situation was all different. This was not a dream, I was really awake, and Chris wasn't here to protect us. My heart pounded unevenly as my breathing went crazy.

I searched for my phone, finding it on the floor, before grabbing Louis into my arms and carrying him into the bathroom. I locked the door behind us and fell to the ground, placing my hands over his ears as he cried. The alarms continued to buzz loudly, making tears fall down my face. This couldn't be happening.

"Shh, you're okay. Baby, you're okay," I kept repeating to Louis, trying my hardest to calm him down. Suddenly, the alarms cut off and only the sounds of the intruder downstairs filled the house.

I could hear screaming, then the sound of something smashing. I couldn't make out the words that were being said, but I knew someone was speaking. I gathered Louis into my arms and hugged him close to me, rubbing his back.

My hands shook as I pulled my phone up to my face, trying my hardest to look at the screen with all the crying I was doing. There was no point calling the cops, I knew they would already be on their way. Chris wasn't even in the same state, there was no use in calling him.

"Pete!" I shouted as he answered, sounding confused to hear from me.

"Sandy? What's wrong? Did you not speak to Chris?" He asked, making me raise my eyebrows.

"Huh? Chris isn't here. There's someone in the house, the alarms went off and they're smashing everything downstairs."

"Sandy..." Pete trailed off, scaring me with the tone of his voice. "I just dropped Chris off five minutes ago."

My phone fell to the floor as the room began to spin. My heart took an uneven beat as a gun shot echoed through the house, making Louis jump and the entire house shake. Oh god. Oh god, no.

"Chris!" I screamed, tears falling down my face.
