Erza POV
After quickly packing up an overnight bag, (which wasn't much considering how many of Mira's products and clothes were already over at my place) I opened my car door for Mira so she could slide in and throw her bag in the back.
"Thanks E."
"No problem." I smiled at her before shutting the door and walking around the front of the porsche to hop into the driver's seat.
We both buckled our seat belts and waved to Melany and Lis. I pulled out of the Strauss drive way, down the long path...
"Do you really need a driveway this huge?"
Mira giggled, light and heavenly as she gazed out the window. "You say that every time."
"I know but still. Not even my driveway is that big."
"That's because you chose to have water fountains and topiary."
"Much more useful."
Mirajane laughed out loud, disbelieving. "Decoration over practicality? Like if."
"What part of a mile long driveway is practical?" I laughed myself as we finally, finally made it out of Strauss property.
"Yeah well..." Mira began but cut herself off.
"Well, what?" I asked, concerned as to what was bothering her.
"I don't know! Leave me alone Erza." Mira giggled, running a hand through her delicate, snow white hair.
I whistled lowly. "Period, huh?"
Mirajane turned to gawk at me. "Oh my God! Could you just like, shut up? Please?"
"Alright, alright." I laughed, pressing my foot down on the accelerator a little harder.
"We're still on for tomorrow right?" She questioned, changing the subject.
"Movie night right?" I questioned in confirmation.
"Yeah, um, I invited our other friends."
"Okay, why did that make you nervous?"
"I don't know..."
"Uh, yes you do. I can see it on your pretty face."
Mira blushed slighty, looking adorable in the neon car lights. "Shouldn't you be watching the road?"
"I am, I just wanna know. You got me curious." I glanced at her once more before chuckling at her still embarrassed face. Looking back to the road, I turned the corner into my street before adding, "so now you have to answer."
"It's just..." Mira sighed and I could sense her looking towards me once more. For a while there was only silence so I looked back over to her again.
"Mira?" I questioned, worried as she was simply staring at me.
"Huh? Oh sorry. Spaced out for a while there." Mira shook her head.
"Are you alright?" I aked, now sincerely worried.
"Yeah, Erza." Mira smiled at me reassuringly, gesturing with her head for me to focus on the road and I did just that. "Do you remeber, back when we first met, we promised one another we'd get married?"
"Yeah, of course I remember. We were so silly back then." I laughed, ignoring the way my chest tightened. "I used to even believe it." I admitted, glancing towards her once more to see her staring at me again, the barest hint of a smile on her otherwise blank face.
"I used to believe it could happen too." Mira turned away to look out the window once more. "Seems ridiculous to think about it now."
I smiled sadly, for some reason, the idea of Mira thinking it ridiculous hurting me. "We even made daisy flower rings and crowns so we could pretend to be Princesses."
