It is about a person who hides their true self and the outside of this matryoshka doll is depicted as a completely normal person,however,as each layer is gradually stripped,the true feelings are revealed and ultimately,the core,which is also represented by insanity,is exposed.
Deep down,they are desperate for someone to understand and to help them from their mental instability. They meet to attempt to support each other but they hurt themselves more and more by peeling the layers. They dance to hide their depression and in the end their destroys them and their insanity cannot be contained.
Gumi suicides at the end after acknowledging that the way she lives through self-deception undermines true happiness. It is hinted that Miku finds help.
It can also be interpreted that insanity is the façade that they uphold and as the person descends into the core, their true selves are revealed.
