You gasped, sitting up. White light assaulted your eyes and you went to cover your eyes with your left arm, but you couldn't feel it. You used your right arm instead, trying to look around.

"Another hospital." You mumbled, looking around. You were definitely in the ICU this time around. The room was white and grey, machines sitting all around you. The door was opened slightly, giving you a slight view of the hallway outside. You looked around and noticed a call button. You pressed it, nothing. After a minute you pressed it again, still nothing. Another went by and you looked to your left side, hearing the machine react to your impatience. Something felt off, light. You looked down at where your arm was supposed to be.. Your left arm was gone.. Completely. You began insistently pushing the button until a nurse peeked in.

"How can I help, ma'am?" He asked sweetly.

"My arm is gone." You stated in disbelief. The nurse nodded.

"The infection in your shoulder was too bad.. We couldn't save it." He explained softly. You put your right hand over where your arm used to be, breaking down into violent sobs. They'd taken you from your family, taken your dignity, your self respect, and now your arm. You didn't know what you'd done to deserve it. The nurse wasn't sure what to do so he walked to the bed, placing a hand on your back.

"It'll be alright.." He whispered.

"They've taken everything from me!" You sobbed.

"You still have your heart. Your brain. That's what's important." The nurse insisted. You shook your head, he had no idea what you'd been through in the last month.

"I'm broken and scarred.. I.. I'm nothing.." You explained, choking out another sob. The door across the room opened fully, revealing none other than a disheveled Oswald Cobblepot in a giant coat and sunglasses.

"Oswald?" You sobbed out. What would he think of your current state? You stared at his chest, trying not to make eye contact. He took two steps into the room with his signature limp, sliding off his sunglasses. He dropped his coat onto the floor and quickly limped to you, pulling you into the tightest hug you'd ever received. He ignored your flinch, just beginning to cry in relief. The nurse took that as incentive to leave. The two of you hugged each other and cried, never before been so happy yet in such profound pain. Oswald started to rock you back and forth.

"I thought I'd never see you again." He whimpered, beginning to sob. You wrapped your arm around him.

"I.. Wish you didn't have to see me like this." You whispered. Oswald wiped his face, using his sleeve to dry yours.

"You're still beautiful." He assured.

"I only have one arm.." You replied. Oswald cupped your cheeks with his hands.

"You are still a beautiful woman." He insisted. You gulped dryly, he was pushing to hard for you to accept it. Did he know what Maroni's men had done? You broke eye contact, just staring at the bed.

"I don't think any less of you." Oswald sighed. Tears of relief and fear overwhelmed you again.

"I don't know what to do, Oswald." You sobbed. He wrapped his arms around you once more, allowing you to cry into his chest.

"Live, (Y/N)... You're going to live."
