“Balance this!” Oswald giggled, trying to hand you a bowl.“Put it on top!” You said, panting softly from all the things on your head. At this point there was six books, seven plates, a container of meatloaf, and now a bowl.
“I told you I could do it!” You laughed, beginning to get a little lightheaded.
“You are such a showoff.” He said, shaking his head with a smile. You finally tripped forward, taking him down with you. Your hands instinctively wrapped around the back of his head, making you land on your elbows. You straddled him, everything landing on your back.
“Showoff.”
You punched the wall many many times, blood beginning to seep from your knuckles.
“How are you not reeling in pain?” Oswald asked, examining your hands closely.
“I can feel a small sting, but… I’ve learned to block out most pain.” You explained, beginning to wrap your hands.
“And what about… Pleasure?” He asked with a pause.
“That I couldn’t tell you.”
“You’re still a showoff.”
You climbed on the railing of the balcony attached to Oswald’s apartment. You walked in a perfect line, trying not to look at the fall below. You glanced down at the bustling traffic and were afraid, climbing onto the roof as the sun began a downward descent. You pulled Oswald up, setting him on the ledge. The two of you waited until the sun had set before climbing up to a flat place to lay and watch the stars.
“I don’t know very much about you… Care to share?” Oswald asked, keeping his eyes to the sky. You shrugged, thinking for a moment.
“I’m (Y/N) (L/N).. I’m third best in the bodyguard in the business… I’m 29 and I live alone. Everyone else in my family is dead… My favorite color is red, favorite flower is red or pink or even blue roses… I love animals…. I was trained by a monster and was in a horrible relationship at the time… And that’s about all.” You explained softly.
“Well, Miss (Y/N), I’m Oswald Cobblepot, you can call me Oz if you’d like.. I work as a spy for Don Falcone. I’m going to kill Fish Mooney.” He said. You gasped quietly before remembering what she let happen to you.
“I’m going to one day rule Gotham.. My mother is still very much alive… My favorite flower is a black lily… Cats are more my style and... I haven’t been in a relationship.”
“Hah, I’ve been in one.”
“Momentous showoff.”
Hours later Oswald had fallen asleep, but you just looked at the stars. You began singing a soft song, waiting until you were done to stand up. You picked Oswald up bridal style, he was a bit heavier then he looked. You slowly slid down the roof and to the balcony, trying to make the landing as soft as you possibly could. Oswald made a noise but didn’t stir, making you sigh. You slipped into the door, using your foot to close it behind you. You tiptoed to his bed, pulling back the blankets and laying him down. His arms wrapped around your neck, pulling you down.
“Um, Oz?” You whispered, he pulled harder. You sighed deeply, slipping off your shoes. You laid down next to him, his bed was comfortable and his body was warm. You relaxed, confused at the contact, but slowly fell asleep.
