"All you have to is hand over the crystal."

I looked up, my hands beginning to burn from clutching my teacup so hard.

"What? Oh, the crystal. Yeah." I remembered.

I looked around the room. The waitresses bussing tables occasionally glanced at us.

What had just happened? The crystal was still hanging from my neck.

It was all just a vision.

I couldn't give him the crystal.

"Yeah, just let me go to the restroom, I don't feel well." I got out of my seat, my legs shaking as I made my way to the back of the restaurant. Darkness watched my every step.

"Don't be long, Lily." He called out.

I quickly shut the door, locking it behind me. I sighed of relief, collapsing to the ground.

What was I going to do?

There had to be a way around this, a way to save my family and myself.

There had to be a way.

Think, Lily. Think.

I looked around. Above the sink I noticed there was a window, slightly open to let the warm breeze in. It was large enough for me to fit through.

I had an idea.

~

I burst through the door, causing Lake, Aden, and my mom to stare at me with confused expressions.

"Lily?" Lake got up from the table, rushing over to me. "What happened?"

"I-I-" I sat down, catching my breath. "The basement-"

He quickly rushed to the basement, leaving me chasing him. As I assumed, there was a small bomb planted just under the window.

"Oh my god!" Lake quickly rushed to shut it off. There was no way.

"Lake, hand it to me." He hesitated, but handed it to me. That's when I ran out back as fast as I could to the old pond me, Lake, and Aden would play in as children.

Each second felt like an hour, and the only thing I was worried about was running.

I quickly threw the bomb into the pond, looking next to me to find Darkness in the distance, watching me just as the bomb exploded underneath the water.

I covered my face to block the water, my ears ringing from the giant explosion. I was knocked to the ground, the air knocked out of me. I looked back at Darkness.

He wasn't there.

"What the hell!" I screamed at particularly no one. "Why me?!"

Why was I chosen? Why did I have to be a timecatcher instead of living the normal teenage life everybody else my age lives?

I layed on the ground, catching my breath.

I just saved everyone.

I'm ok.

For now.
