"KATE!"

The screaming came from every direction.

"KATE!!"

I tried to call out, only I couldn't. I couldn't see, it was too dark.

"KATE, PLEASE!! WHERE ARE YOU?"

Tears slid down my cheeks as I tried screaming out but nothing came out. I couldn't tell Evan where I was, I couldn't tell anyone where I was. I didn't even know where I was. I didn't even know how I got here.

This place is cold. It's way too quiet.

I don't want to be here. I don't want to be stuck here.

Evan, please don't give up.

I don't want to be stuck here.

Please come find me.

I'm begging you.

I jerked awake, catching my breath and wiping the sweat from my forehead.

Kate is here.

Kate is somewhere.

She isn't here yet she is.

I threw myself out of bed and raced to the basement.

Wait.

What was I doing?

I didn't even know if she was here or not and for some odd reason running to the basement seems like the best choice to look for answers.

Suddenly someone knocked on the door.

"Lily?"

It was Evan. I opened the door, letting him walk in. He looked so pale, with dark circles underneath of his eyes.

"Are you ok?"

"There's more I need to tell you. A lot more."

I motioned him to have a seat on the couch in the living room, and I closed the basement door as I followed him.

I'll go there later.

I know something must be in there. I haven't checked the basement at all since I've moved into this house.

"It's about Kate."

"I assumed."

"She's alive somewhere."

I sat there silent. "Elaborate, Evan."

He took a deep breath, then continued. "I had a dream. When I dream, I can see the future. And I saw kate, she was-she was-she-"

"Evan, what happened?" I squeezed his hand. His eyes began to water and his breathing quickened.

"-here. She was here."

"What do you mean, Evan?"

"This was the last place I saw her, it would only make sense..." Then he jerked up, his eyes suddenly alert. He began to race toward the basement door.

"Evan, wait!" I called, chasing after him. He reached the bottom of the basement steps before I did, and my jaw dropped in amazement at what I saw right in front of my very eyes.
