"How can you tell us not to worry mum!" Cameron shouted, I never understood the whole concept of calling her 'mum' the rest of us Normal kids said 'mom', but Cameron was always fucking strange and watched one too many British shows while growing up.
The whole family was gathered in the living room with the exception of Heath and Izzy who still had bedtime. The only reason why Gabriel wasn't tucked in was his constant whining of saying he was old enough to choose when he would sleep. Stubborn Jackass.
Ace was still away at college so that left five Margo children. I sat on my usual seat in the recliner, my legs tucked under me and a knit blanket Blaze had given me for my thirteen birthday keeping me warm, it also hid my hands that were slightly shaking in nerves.
To no ones surprise Blaze and Cameron sat side by side on the smallest couch, both mirroring each others moves and grim faces. It was haunting how alike they were, yet so different. Only being a year apart one could say they were practically like twins. The care and protectiveness for each other proving how they would lie, steal, cheat and probably die for one another. It reminded me of the series I read called, 'The Mortal Instruments.' they each held a piece of the other, like the parabatai. Only thing they were missing was a rune to make it official.
Unlike Cameron and Blaze, I actually have a twin. Dante sat to my right on the larger couch but if I reached out I could easily touch him. Gabe was sitting beside him but I doubt he cared about what we were speaking of, only admiring the fact that he got to hang out with us older kids.
It was obvious how Dante and I were not even close to the same. Our simple face features the only thing we had in common. But he and I did have a bond, something none of the family knew. We rarely spoke but when we did we cherished every moment, making sure to end on good grounds. Never once fighting (Not seriously anyway) we had our own secret language, hand gestures to talk when we were little and went with dad to his work, not being able to utter a word when dad was doing some stupid meeting.
So maybe us twins weren't like Blaze and Cameron who did almost everything as a team, but our brother and sister love was greater than most. I would do anything for him--he wasn't just my twin, he's my whole childhood--I owe him, even if that meant leaving for him to be happy. Family always comes first. I smiled a bit, so lost in my thoughts that it wasn't until my father spoke I realized how entranced I was before being snapped out of it.
"Cameron. Your mother and I have told you already." My father stood behind my birth giver, his hands on her shoulders in a comforting manner but I could see the tension from here; mom wasn't used to people shouting at her, especially my older brothers who show the most respect. She's a lover not a fighter in every which way.
"We've called Billy and Peter. They said Scar is known for doing this, she dissapears for a while and once she's gotten her head straightened out she'll come home. She just wants time to herself. They say the best thing we can do is just let her have her space and not stress ourselves too much."
"It's been three days! How do you know she walked out? She could've been kidnapped!" Cameron added.
"She wasn't." I said, my voice coming out a bit shaky before I cleared it. "I saw her. She packed some clothes and left, she knew what she wanted: a few days alone, so she got some clothes...and left." I repeated.
