CHAPTER 1
View: Lorraine Caverly.
Code: Agent HS12
Location: Actel Building.
Time: 9:40 pm."Status report."
After a moment of ruffle sounds, the earpiece in my ear finally spat out some words, actually it was from whoever that person was in charge behind the other end, but you got my point. It only took a little moment to connect and transfer the voice to my ear but to me it was long enough to be annoying in such situations.
Follow the order I just got, I quickly glazed my eyes a quick three-sixty surveillance of my dark surroundings, when everything was still in place and nothing seemed wrong, yet, I reported back through the small communication unit in the back of my mouth that could catch even the slightest sounds in such cases that need silence, "Nothing out of place, still observing."
"Roger that."
That voice rang out from the earpiece again then everything was back to complete silence, except the sounds of birds and stuffs on the trees all around the building. I swear this building was built like it was in the middle of the forest, even though it was mostly like in the quieter side of the town.
Still sitting on one of the trees around the building, which perfectly 300 meters away from the building's back door and 19 feet above the ground. I chose this place after making sure that the security cameras and the guards couldn't spot me, plus dressed in all back was an advantage. I actually yawned after a moment, this mission today was pretty boring, I didn't even remember when was the last time I got this easy of a mission. Wiped the tears off my eyes from the yawning, I scanned my eyes around the scene again.
Click.
My head snapped to the spot where that noise from so fast and I was surprised that I didn't give myself a whiplash. As if on cue, the door slowly opened revealed a dark small hall without any lights and a man still holding the doorknob from inside. Just as I was informed and after experience, I knew that he would take the back door instead of the main door, almost everyone didn't know this door existed, even the employees of the building, its color was blended in with the color of the wall, placed in the dark corner, after all it was not easy to discover.
The man, Antonio Margine to be exact, stepped out from the door very slowly but firmly, like the millionaire that he was. Hmm let's see. Black leather bag: check. Wearing sun glasses, probably night vision: check. Black hair: check. Striped gray suit: check. Olive skin tone: check.
All of that was enough for me to ready to pull the trigger of my beloved rifle. I placed my finger on the cool, smooth surface of the trigger, aiming and whispered into the coms unit, "Target spotted." I got no response back, because all of us knew that it's not in need when we all knew exactly our job.
I aimed again, closed one eye and lowered my body down on the rifle that was placed firmly on one of the branches, took a deep breath, I squeezed my index finger on the trigger and the bullet rushed out from the barrel with the speed of 2600 feet per second, aimed straight to its target, without any sound through the silencer.
No need to wait for long, a moment later, the bullet thrusted itself into Mr. Millionaire's forehead before he could blink. He fell backward to the ground with a thud, his lifeless eyes opened wide, staring straight into the dark sky, dark like his soul and dark like his eyes. The crimson stream of blood rushed out from the bullet hole on his forehead, stained red the damp ground.
