Kate's Point of View
Walking down the street, the air smelt different. Crisp, Salty and Refreshment invaded my body. Somehow, this city was able to provide me solace and serenity that New York could never provide for me. I didn't get far before I entered a quint building. Tiki heads hung up on every wall, Palm trees stood at every corner of the room, making my way over to the bamboo themed bar I stood taking in my surroundings feeling as though I'd stepped through another dimension; ending up in Hawaii somehow. If I ever bought a nightclub I would be tempted to follow this venue's interior with no hesitation.
"What will you have?" My attention remodelled itself to the bar maid, her hair parted in colourful dreadlocks which instantly catch the eye of an onlooker. Her eyes sparkled when the strobe lights hit our direction, her eyebrow was slightly raised waiting for my response. "Make me something you enjoy making." I had no intentions to get intoxicated but when she started pouring the beverages into the tumbler I suspected the cocktail was going to muddle me;12 ML of Havana, 12ML of Cîroc, 12ML of Triple Sec, 12ML of Patron, 12ML Bombay Sapphire a splash of Cola and a shot of Lemon Juice; Long Island Iced Tea. Internally thanking the barmaid for her choice of drinks she placed the concoction in front of me. The dreaded barmaid nodded her head smirking coaxing me to take a sip. The straw entered my mouth, vehemently gazing up at the barmaid through my lashes. Sipping slowly, I let the burning mixture warm up my throat eventually tasting the concoction which pleasantly surprised me. Yielding the nervous woman in front of me a warm smile. I parted with a £20 note which gave me £12 change. It pays to be spontaneous.
A couple of cocktails later I was addled, staring into my glass attempting to lament a plan of how I was going to assassinate the President of Hannogan's SIA Enterprise without it going public, but Matt wouldn't have sent me out here if he didn't want to cause holy hell to break loose. He sent me out here because he knew I'd get the job done without any traces of our presence. "What's a beautiful specimen like you doing at a bar like this, alone?" looking up, I was met with a pair of sky blue eyes, our eyes locked whilst an outbreak of warmth succumbed my body. My eyes traveled across her features; Her small nose, her long facial structure, her tinted eyebrows which were unsymmetrical but still beautiful, the darkness under her eyes, her pale skin. This woman held so much beauty and radiance it was intimidating. A surge of familiarity overtook my senses and then everything came together; She's the reason I'm in Wales.
"Hello, is anyone in there?" her eyebrow raised as her face scrunched up in concern. "Sorry, I'm in my own world." I shrugged giving her no material nor interest. Her body tensed and then relaxed as she inhaled deeply. "Are all American's this rude or is it just you? What are you drinking?" I turned away from her. I needed to get out of this situation because my target is too close for comfort. "Nothing, I've got to go." Bringing the glass up to my lips to sip the remainder of my drink, snatching my purse from the alcohol stained bar. I turned on my heel hoping this was the end of our encounter. A force spun me around forcing our bodies to collide. "What do you think you're doing?" I demanded, my body temperature started rising. The audacity on this woman stunned me. Her lips crept into a smile. "You're having a drink with me, sit." As if there was an invisible presence in the room I did as I was told. My eyes never left the brunette opposite me. In the corner of her eye she could blatantly see me checking her out. Her attention snapped to the barmaid, too stunned to overhear her order I sat my purse down on the bar." Do you always treat woman this way?" I questioned in astonishment. Her face lit up in amusement, her body creeping uncomfortably close to mine. "No, I really don't. But you caught my eye. You see, I come here every week and I see the same face's but yours by far is the most beautiful and intriguing." Only until then I'd realised how thick her accent was.
