Switching on the TV watching 'The big bang theory.' Deja joined me, I put my legs on top of her lap. "Do you know who Talia is?" My eyes locked onto the TV. The ebony haired gulped louder than she anticipated. "How is she?" I prodded, I need answers. Now. Moment's passed and nothing but silence. "Deja?! Seriously. How is she?" Her face turned solemn. Facing me her eyes held sorrow. This can't be happening. "Did Matt kill her or did you?!" shouting, not caring about anything anymore. Deja pulled me onto her lap attempting to soothe me, hitting, punching, kicking, trembling I felt weak. Matthew had ruined my life, he killed the only woman who I could be best friends with, who would put up with my crap. He attempted to murder my girlfriend, if he wasn't dead I'd make sure he was right this second. The aching in my chest finally subsided. My head felt heavy, the shooting pains of crying struck everywhere, and I couldn't breathe. My eyelids drew towards each other and I slipped off into another deep sleep.
Awoken with a nightmare of Matthew killing Deja stirred up a storm into my mind. I don't have much because he made sure I didn't. Not anymore, I won't let him take anything else. I'm taking this before he can. The demons of my life swirled around in the darkest parts of my mind. The screaming, the blood, the pain. All of it hit me full force. Breaking point never seemed so clear as it was now, and I had reached it. Matthew always told me I was weak. I'm not, I'll do something only brave people do.
Sneaking to the closet I found my Desert Eagle dusty and cold. Looking into the barrel already full ammo. Uncocking the safety, the gun was in position. My heart ached, my hands trembled. My finger flinched over the trigger.
1.. I breathed, 2... I shrieked, 3...My finger flicked over the trigger again. "Don't you dare!" My attention snapped up to my beautiful girlfriend, tear tainted cheeks. "Don't you dare leave me by myself! I have nothing without you. We can get you help. I didn't know you were struggling so bad. Baby, please. Put the gun down." Cautious steps creeped up on me, the pooling of tears on my lap, the trembles of my body. Deja came to my side, pulled me into her, stroking my back telling me it's okay.
"Kate, you took a bullet for me. Don't ever think I wouldn't do the same for you."
