Neveah was completely over it. The drama that fifth graders seemed to come up with was petty and insignificant to what she would soon face in her new school or even as a demigod. But she didn't know that yet.

All she knew was Carter Williams would deeply regret ever meeting her.

Carter had been dating (holding hands with) her best friend Coco for the past month and a half. But then their other friend Mike saw Carter kissing Mia on the cheek after school one day.

Neveah had never liked Carter at all. He was a teacher's pet and his aunt was the secretary. So he could do no wrong in any adult's eyes. But he was the fakest person she had ever met. And she made sure to mention that to Coco when he was first introduced to their friend group.

Coco didn't care at all though. She had been crushing on him since the fourth grade and Neveah wasn't aware of this until they first started dating.

Neveah had, of course, made it clear that she didn't like Carter from the beginning. He was aware of the situation and never did anything to rub her the wrong way until he started with Coco.

"But he must've have known that I'd want to hit him in the face with a basketball during recess." Neveah was saying angrily.

Coco was crying, she was utterly crushed. "Could you not make this about you and comfort me!"

"Well I'm sorry Co, but I told he was a wanker. If only you listened..." Neveah said quietly, pulling her friend into a hug.

Coco pulled away. "Why do you always have to be right all the time?" Coco stood up. "You weren't supportive at all and you kept making faces when ever you saw him and Will told me that Jen told him that you were talking about me and C-carter behind our backs!"

Neveah was shocked. "I wasn't making faces and I wasn't talking about you guys. You knew very well that I didn't like Carter so I wasn't about to fake just because you guys started dating!"

Coco wasn't having any of this. "Go call your mom so she can pick you up. I can't even look at you."

Neveah slowly stood from the bed. "You're not really going to be mad at me for being honest?"

Coco sniffled. "I don't know. Mom says I shouldn't make big decisions when I'm upset. Tomorrow morning at school I'll let you know." Coco wiped her tears and crossed her arms. "Now go."

Neveah picked up her backpack and made her way out of Coco's room when Coco stopped her, saying, "What's a wanker?"

Neveah froze like a deer in headlights. "It's a curse word that mum told me not say. So if you never said it again I would appreciate that." She gave her friend a tight smile. "I am truly sorry that you're hurting and I hope we'll still be friends."

Neveah left quickly, waving to Coco's mom and giving her cat a pat. She sat on the stoop of her building and was pulling out her phone to call her mom but remembered that she was working today. Neveah facepalmed, now realizing why her mom was dropping hints that she stay the night at Coco's.

It was okay because it wouldn't be the first time Neveah had spent the night alone. And their apartment was only two blocks away. The sun was still out and she would have her keys in her hand like her mom told her to do. Yes, she would be fine.

TIMESKIP

The next morning, Neveah was telling her mother what happened the night before over blueberry pancakes.

Her mom was listening intently, peering at her daughter over her cup of tea.

"Carter sounds like an absolute wanker." Julia said, taking a sip. "And I better not get a call from the school saying that you gave him a bloody nose. Unless it was accidental." She said with a wink.

Neveah smiled. "You're supposed to say you don't want any call from the school at all."

"Well, then how will you grow as a person if I stopped you from all these learning experinces?" Julia said sarcastically. "I could only wish my father gave me this much freedom." She put her now empty cup in the sink and grabbed her purse and Neveah's backpack. "He thought since I didn't have a mother I -"

"Would be a wild child so my only freedom was at boarding school. The best seven years of my life." Neveah finished with her mom. "I know, I know. I should be grateful for all this freedom because you didn't have it until you were around my age." She rinsed her plate and her mom's cup and put them in the drying rack. She took her backpack from her mom and pulled her toward the door. "You can continue to tell me about your lack of freedom on the way to school."

TIMESKIP

When Neveah made it school, she was a bit early so the students were still hanging around the playground. She made her way to her and Coco's usual spot and saw her friend standing there, her arms crossed.

"So what's the verdict?" Neveah said with a sinking feeling.

The seriousness on Coco's face was replaced with slight confusion. "Verdict?"

"What's your decision?" Neveah said impatiently. "Are we good?"

"Oh," Coco said, regaining her serious face. "I've decided I don't want to be your friend. I talked with my mom during breakfast and she agreed that you were toxic and I don't need you to be such a drag in my life."

Neveah paused. "What?"

"We're not friends anymore." Coco said slowly, her face slightly smug.

"How am I toxic?!" Neveah exclaimed, drawing some attention to their conversation.

"Well you weren't being supportive at all-"

"Of your relationship, which you knew damn well I didn't like anyway!" Neveah said loudly. "In every other aspect of our entire friendship I was everything you needed and more! So why are you going to ditch me because that bloody wanker decided you weren't good enough for him?!"

Coco clearly wasn't expecting Neveah to fight back. It was then obvious to Neveah that Coco hadn't really known her at all.

"W-well," Coco stuttered, trying to make Neveah look like the bad guy in front of the eager faces of the bystanders. "You were talking about me behind my back!" She settled on.

"The thing that Will told you that Jen told him that I was talking about the two of you?" Neveah said bewildered.

Coco nodded triumphantly, knowing she couldn't come up with an excuse for that.

"I was talking to Marie during science and it was a private conversation that Jen should've kept her abnormally large nose out of! It was the day after you and Carter got together and I was saying to Marie that Carter seemed like a total jerk and I didn't want him to hurt you because of his jerkiness." Neveah crossed her arms, the spark of anger she had felt last night now igniting. "So you're going to stop being my friend because I actually give a damn about what happens to you? Nice to know what type of person you are, Colandrea."

And with that, Neveah pushed through the crowd of fifth graders and made her way to class, hiding her tears along the way.

Alright so this in reference to chapter 7 in Pigfarts?! No Way!

Outside of the building as they caught their breath, Percy muttered, "I really hate you. I hope you realize that."

"People seem to hate me a lot," Neveah muttered under her breath. Percy but decided not to comment. Not yet anyway.
