I can't sleep tonight. All I can think about is Day. The days have gone by so fast. He is leaving in two days. He'll be gone forever probably once he gets on that jet. I decide to go for a walk. I get up and head to the front door grabbing my coat on the way out. I lock the door behind me and walk outside. I turn a couple of corners onto different streets. As I turn past the next building, I bump into someone. "Sorry," I say as I lift my head. The next thing I know, I am staring into ocean blue eyes. Day stares down at me. "Hello", he says bringing me back to reality. "Hey. What are you doing out here at this time?", I ask taking a large step back. "I could ask you the same", he replies with a grin on his face. "I couldn't sleep. What's your reason?", I ask him. "Same as you", he says with a faraway look. "Come on. We might as well go for a walk together", he says looking back at me. I nod my head in response. We walk down a couple of streets silently. Day, of course, is the first to break the silence. "So, how are you?", he replies shooting me a quick glance before lookin back in front of him. "I'm good. Same as always", I reply looking at the ground as I walk. After that, we continue walking in silence. I get an idea. "C'mom, follow me", I reply and speed off. Day follows right behind me asking the same question each time we turn a corner. "Where are we going?", he asks for like the sixth time. "We're almost there. Relax", I say with a bit of an annoyed feeling. We pass a couple of more buildings and we are there. Day catches up with me. "Where a-," he begins to say. A look of wonder spreads across his face. He walks closer to the house he grew up in. It is all boarded up, but has some openings. He scans the entire perimeter and looks at the floor. There, a stain of blood lies able to be seen. He stares at it and makes his way to where the stain lies. His smile has vanished from his face. He shakes his head a returns his focus to the house. He must remember that part. I think to myself. I shake my head and force myself to focus on right now. On Day. He climbs the roof and gestures for me to follow him. I start climbing the wall and once I reach the top, he has slipped trough a hole in the roof. I slip jump through after him and land on my feet. I stand up and look around. Day stands on the other side of the room running his hand over a table. He looks at me once I reach him. He smiles and walks into another room. I follow him and next thing I know, we are in what looks like a bedroom. I runs his hand over the sheets and sits down staring at what looks like a dead plant. He looks at it for a while then looks back at me. "Thank you for taking me here", he says with a wide grin spread out across his face. I smile back. "No problem. It's the least I can do with you leaving for Australia in two days", I say with a sad expression on my face. I shake my head and force myself to smile for his sake. He gets up and walks over to me. He stands so close that our lips are inches away. I know I should move, but I can't. I'm frozen in my place. I can't move. He looks me in the eye and I can see his eyes flicker down at my lips for a second. He brings his attention back up to my eyes and leans forward. We are only couple of centimeters away when a dog barks. We back away from each other. "Well, I better get going. I have work tomorrow," I say. "Ya I should be getting back now. Eden must be wondering where I am", he says. I turn around and leave. I walk home and put my key into the keyhole. I push the door open and walk to my room. I lay on the bed and cover myself with the sheets. I close my eyes and fall asleep.
