"tell him, tell her"
After that night, Noah and I didn't get to talk to each other, we fixed ourselves and tried to make it look like we didn't just make out for an entire hour. We made our way back to the living room and acted like nothing happened.
We both promised to talk about it the next day, but as I expected, our conversation never happened. The phone was literally right in front of me, but I don't know what held me back from ringing him, maybe because I wanted him to ring me first? But what if he was expecting me to do it first and we were both were just waiting for either one of us to drop our pride. Or worse, he forgot about that whole predicament and was too busy doing something else?
Okay, I've never stressed so much over some boy before. This is new.
But, Noah wasn't just some boy.
He was, dare I say it, my everything.
As I made my way to my last period, I clutched my books against my chest tightly, sighing before I entered the room, everyone was loud and full of energy, which confused me a bit, I thought last period was the time of day when everyone would be too tired to give a shit and most would just sleep it out and the teacher wouldn't even complain because they were tired as hell too.
But right now, everyone was on their feet, talking to each other, doodling on clothes and chasing each other around, some were laughing, a few kids were on the side of the room making a small photoshoot, they even had an actual camera.
With both my eyebrows raised, I sat next to Alicia who was rapidly typing away on her phone, "Did I miss anything or is the entire room so full of positivity?" She didn't seem to hear me so I snatched her phone from her hands and tucked it inside my binder.
She scoffed and gave me an annoyed look, "I was texting Simon!" she exclaimed, crossing her arms. I raised an eyebrow, Simon McAllister was the tall, blonde college boy Alicia met in the mall a few months ago, they'd been dating for quite a while now, but Simon was always busy with being the head of their lacrosse team and from studying as well. His school was only an hour away from ours, so Alicia always went to his University after school, but their longest conversations were found in their text messages. I would feel bad for disturbing their moment, but I wasn't exactly in the most pleasant of moods today, so Miss Evil Queen is here to accommodate.
Alicia always knew it when I was in a mood because she'd roll her eyes and cross her arms, "It's the last day of school Miss Obvious, of course everyone's full of energy. And I was just settling my date with Simon before you oh so graciously took my phone from me. With that in check, give me back my android Harte" she said outstretching her palm in front of me.
I slapped my own palm against hers and gave her a wicked grin. Her nose flared and she rolled her eyes, "What's the matter with you anyway? Aren't you supposed to be happy that school's ending? You don't have to deal with the entire student body for three months before you look at them once more for another year and then graduate?"
That put me on the spot, I knew why I wasn't feeling jolly like everyone else. But I wasn't about to tell her it was because of a certain shaggy haired boy. Alicia is one of the people who are well-aware of my feelings and history with him, and if she knew what had transpired last week, I'd never hear the end of it.
"No reason. Guess I just woke up on the wrong side of the bed, but I kind of feel relieved to finally have school end" I replied feigning a nonchalant tone. I hope she didn't catch the slight crack in my voice, it usually appeared when I was lying or hiding something.
