LITTLE DID THEY KNOW

i saw myself standing there trying to act like i couldn't care. about the bruises that were showing from under the scarf i wore around my neck. it was summers people thought i was crazy wearing a scarf
but little did they know.

the sleek charcoal black coat covered all of me. my arms didn't show and i was content. it was summers and i was wearing a coat people thought i was crazy,
but little did they know.

i was wearing my favourite skirt but leggings under it. it was summers and people thought i was crazy,
but little did they know.

i blamed nobody but my father for this but then he had an excuse.
my mother left him when i was younge calling him useless.
so he started to drink
but little did he know.

he was the one and only for me.
i didn't care if he hit me or what people said about him.
i am still standing strong on his advice.
"people do not know who you are in fact what you are."
