Avery looks at her left and finds a small round table with a bottle and two glasses. She walks up to it.
"It's fruit juice, I thought it'd be booze." Says Avery.
"Booze...is for later." He pulls a chair for Avery.
"Yeah right. I would definitely no...
Avery walks down to the road. Neil's walking beside her. The both live in an awkward silence for a good couple of minutes.
"I never got a minute to talk to you. " Neil says, finally breaking the silence. "Me too. These days went so busy..."
"So you are? " Neil stops walking. Avery stands too. They're facing each other. Avery let's put a short sigh and introduces herself. " I am Avery Thompson, the only daughter of Marcus Thompson." Avery pauses for a while. Neil nods. "I guess it's time for you to introduce yourself to me. You are? " " Alright then, I'm called Neil Twombly, the obedient elder son of Mrs. Jade Twombly. " "
Oh, I see. " "So, tell me more about you Avery, let's get acquainted. " Neil starts to walk. Avery clears her throat and looks at Neil. His eyes flickering in the streetlights.
"Hey, you okay? " Avery's jumps. "Y-yeah. " "You, we're supposed to tell me about yourself. " "Oh, yes. What do you wanna know?" "Well, let's start with your hobbies. " "Hobbies?" Avery giggles. "Yes, hobbies. What's so funny? " "Speaking of hobbies, actually, I don't have any. " Neil looks surprised. "You, don't have a hobby! " "What's so wrong? I'd rather watch Netflix and chill on the couch. You must have a hobby if I'm not wrong?" "How can you be so sure? " "Well, the way you got surprised at me for not having a hobby, I guessed. " "You guessed right. I do have a hobby." "And what is that? " "Collecting beetles. You see, I have this big glass jar filled with beetles. " "Wow, you sound like beetles are like, the most glorious insects ever! " Avert laughs.
"Enough of the beetles now, tell me about your college. " "What should I say, I got into Yale. " "I'm in Yale too. Freshmen huh? " "Yep." "Hey, have you seen the campus yet? "Um, no. I just got here, and it's been like, three days only. " "Then leave this sacred responsibility to your trusted tour guide. " Neil bows. "Tour guide? You? " She giggles. "Yeah, why not? I know every nook and corner of the college. " "But you are a freshman right? " "Yes I m, but I went there a million times for football practice. You coming? " "Okay okay I'll go with you. Which day? " "Tomorrow ." "Tomorrow!" Her eyebrows shoot up. "Yeah, if you're not busy. " "I don't think I have any plans." "So is that a yes? " "Yes, it's a yes. " Avery giggles. Neil gives a wide smile.
"So, how is it to be at New Haven? You like it? " Neil asks. "Honestly, I love this place. It's so quiet and peaceful, unlike New Jersey. How do you feel? " "You know, I grew up in here. This place is like, my family. "
Slow breeze starts to blow. An orange leaf falls in front of Avery. "Omaigod! Autumn's finally approaching! " "You seem excited. " "The most. I love autumn."
They walk back test of the road silent. They reach in front of Avery's house. "So, I guess, this is the place where you say me good night. " They both share a giggle. "Hey Neil, " "Yeah? " "Thank you. I really enjoyed your company back there. " "Me too. "
Neil let's out a short sigh. "So, I'll pick you up at 10:00. Sharp. " "Yep. " "Good night, Avery. " "Yeah, see you tomorrow. "

The next morning Avery's up at 9. Following her morning routine, she starts to get dressed.
"What should I wear?" She catches an eye on a pale white low back floral dress with pink flowers on.
