Chapter Six (Ela's P.O.V)

The Restaurant Balcony ^

I make my way up the stairs to our apartment and push open the door that was unlocked as Rose was home for once."heeeeeeyyyyy, Haaappppyyy Biiirrrthhhdayyyy," I yell and give Rose a big hug,"haha thanks, hun," she says with a bright smile,"What time did you want to go out?" she asks while sitting back down on the couch and bringing kitten on to her lap again," well it's only 6, so maybe we should just hang out here till 7 then head out then" I suggest going into the kitchen to get a drink of water,"yeah sounds perfect""well, I'm going to get my homework done now than" I head to my room and plonk down at my desk to get started.We're currently at a super cute restaurant and are seated out on this kinda balcony thing with an amazing view of the setting sun,"This is so beautiful," I praise still taking in the view,"I know, it's perfect""I wish we could do stuff like this more often" I sigh to Rose enjoying the view and the soft live music that is floating around the restaurant," It makes it more special as we only get to do it occasionally though" she replies making the best of the situation like she always does,"I just wish you would let me get a job, to help out so you didn't have to work so much," Rose had insisted that I'm not allowed to get a job as she believes that I need to focus solely on my school work and dance but I can't help but feel guilty at all the long hours she workes to provide for me when she has already done too much for me over the time I have been living with her."I like my job and I want you to be focusing on school and your dancing, remember the deal was that you are going to college for dance and will one day be able to look after the both of us when you are famous and all" she jokes with a smile, and I did truly believe that she loved her job and that was the only thing that makes the hours she works bearable."I know I just hate that you work so hard, anyway it's your birthday so I got you a little something" I smile and reach into my bag to grab the present and hand it to Rose. She starts opening it and I hold my breath hoping she will like it,"oh my god, Ela," she smiles with eyes that were starting to tear up"where did you get this? you have no idea how much this means to me" she asks now full crying, I feel myself start to tear up as well.I have given her a bracelet that had once been my mums, it is a family heirloom that is passed down from mother to oldest daughter and as my mum had been the oldest she had had it but now that she is no longer here I figured that I should give it to aunt Rose as she is now the oldest daughter and I know mum would have wanted her to have it."I have had it since she died they gave it to me with the rest of her stuff when I went to collect her things from the hospital, I was being selfish though, and was going to keep it but I know she would have wanted no one but you to have it"I smile at her with my still teary eyes, "oh Eleanor, you weren't being selfish, I completely understand and one day this bracelet will be yours, it means so much that you decided to give this to me" I just smiled at her,"ok now no more of this sadness, what are you going to get to eat?"I hadn't gotten home Tuesday night till quite late so I was still sleepy as I had made my way to school on Wednesday but as usual I put on a bright smile anyway, Wednesday whizzed by so fast it was all kinda a blur with just school and cheer practice.now it was Thursday morning and I spotted Evie near her locker talking to a few of the girls and head over,"Hiiiii, "I smile at her,"Hey," she smilesI stay and talk to the girls for a bit but had to head off to the locker rooms as I had sport first and need to get changed before class, there were already a few girls in there so I went to the corner and dropped my bag in one of the lockers and grabbed out a pair of leggings and our schools sports top that we all had to wear.When the bell for the start of the class went off I headed out and sat with a few of the girls from the cheer team near the middle of the bleachers. As coach was running through what we were going to be doing this class I spot Harvey, Nate, Cole, and Luke walk out of the boys changing room and along with the rest of the class I had to stop my self from drooling I don't know how they always seem to look so hot but damn they can defiantly pull anything of.I caught Harvey's eye and quickly look away as he walks by to go sit further up the bleaches, most of the group of cheerleaders I was sitting with and other girls in the class all moved up to sit with them pulling their shorts higher and tops lower, I honestly didn't get it why they would degrade themselves just to get attention."if you boys have finished interrupting the class I will continue to explain what we are doing this season" coach yells with a bit of sarcasm in his voice."Ok we will split the class in half, one half will play dodgeball while the other runs laps than we will swop, got it?" a few students nod their heads,"ok we will split it from halfway up the bleaches, so everyone on the top half will run laps first, and the bottom half will be starting with dodgeball" every one just groans and continues talking, I like running and didn't have a problem with it but didn't want to be the only one to get up,"if you don't get up now and run the laps you will all be looking at detention" The coach yells at us and everyone on the top half of the bleaches including myself shuffled out onto the field.I'm on my third lap and was still feeling well most of the girls where still slowly completing their first and most of the guy where just pushing each other around, I got another lap in before I felt someone ram into the back of me knocking me to the ground with a thud, I lay there for a few seconds waiting for my breath to come back to me when I see Harvey looking down at me with what I thought for a second was a look of worry but as soon as I thought I saw it, it was gone and replaced with the pissed off look he usually has,"you ok?" he grumbles down to me,"Yeah," I breath out,"you should watch where you're going," he says before jogging away leaving me on the ground,"here," one of the guys Will who is on the football team with Harvey says extending his hand to me,"Sorry about that, I didn't mean to push him into you" he gives me a sheepish look,"don't worry about it," I smile and we continue walking around the oval for a bit as I no longer felt like running. Will was cool he was easy to talk to and seemed nice unlike a lot of the guys from the team,"Hey, come on we are going inside for dodgeball" I pointed out to him as we had been lost in conversation and hadn't realized nearly all of our group was heading in already.When class ended I headed back to the locker room and quickly got changed, I headed to the canteen to meet up with Evie and the others. my second class of the day was Maths which I had with Evie, which made my least favorite class at least tolerable.
