Hitaro Mikashi is an average college student in Waseida University. He works part-time as a club manager, due to the lack of available staff. He not only organizes and schedules club meetings and activities but he also helps set up fundraisers for the school. Like most japanese high schools this particular college keeps tradition by having its students wear uniforms. While most japanese uniforms are based on european military articles with the full black over shirt, golden buttons, and high collar, the Waseida University prefers a more lax approach. A male Waseida uniform consists of black dress pants, a black tie, and a red dress shirt with black cufflinks. The schools logo brands the front of the shirt just as in traditional uniforms.
After a hard days work of doing class work, preparing club activities for the following meeting and driving home, Hitaro makes dinner. After Hitaro has eaten he usually hangs out with his brother to watch a movie then goes to bed.
You may think Hitaro is fairly normal with his good grades and average life, however you haven't seen what happens in his head when he sleeps. He always has the same dream, ever since he was a kid. He's surrounded by darkness, and when he turns around there's a mirror. He always expects to see some sort of monster staring back at him through the glass, but the only thing he ever sees is his own reflection. He doesn't understand why he has this dream and what it means, but he's tired of losing sleep over it. He's tried everything from warm milk to leaving the fan on to induce good airflow, but nothing affects the dream and it just keeps happening. Hitaro knows this dream is better than having constant nightmares, like some people, but recently the dream has started to give him a sense of dread.
