Gina
Gina Loules stared at the mess she made of her room. There were papers, clothes, make-up, and drawers from her dresser all over her floor. This was the part she regretted; picking up the mess. She had just got done going on a rampage due to her father giving her, yet, another beating. No matter what though, she always fought back, even if she couldn’t, she tried.
“Gina! Get ready for school! And hurry up ‘cause I’m not going to wait for you!” her father yelled through her door. He was most likely starting his first beer of the day.
“You don’t even bring me to school!” she yelled back while putting on low rider sweatpants and a long sleeved shirt to cover the bruises, soon to come bruises, and scars. She crimped her long blonde hair that fell to her waist and grabbed her backpack.
“Don’t talk to me in that tone, young lady!”
“Shut up!” Her temper was flaring and she could hear footsteps coming up the stairs.
I guess you could say she had a temper, actually, you could totally say that. Being the daughter of a man who drank like his life depended on it wasn’t the way she wanted to live through her childhood. Maybe mommy would be more loving? That’s interesting, because she wasn’t. She guess lying around all day and taking orders from her husband made her too tired to give a shit about her daughter. She knew he beat Gina and she didn’t care. Half the time she thought Gina deserved it.
She flung open her window and threw her bag on the ground and she quickly climbed out the window. She jumped down. It didn’t hurt anymore, her feet were used to the impact. She ran to her friends’ car and hopped in. Her father yelled something out the window and she flipped him off in response…but only after he turned his head and went out of sight. The car flung in reverse and sped out the driveway.
“I don’t know how you put up with him everyday.” Her gay best friend, Hayden, said.
“I don’t either.” She replied.
“You should move in with me.” Adrienne, Gina’s best friend, said.
She chuckled. “I pretty much do live with you.”
Adrienne was her closest friend and her family, in a way. She was the one who supported her through everything. She knew Gina’s situation-well, most of it, anyway-and she does whatever she can to help.
They were late to school as usual and the boring day dragged on and by ninth period Gina was getting antsy. Just when she thought she could die from boredom, their teacher had a very attractive new student stand up front.
“Everyone, this is Dustin, he’s a transfer.” The teacher announced.
Dustin had long black hair and a big smirk plastered on his face. He was pale with scruffy black hair. He was about her height. He had dark jeans that hung on his hips with a Bring Me the Horizon t-shirt under his black hoodie. By the look of it he seemed pretty built, but not jacked. His eyes circled the room quickly then snaked through the tables in the classroom to sit in the empty seat next to Gina. He was leaning against the chair that was next to her seat.
“Hey,” he said to her.
“Hi” she mumbled.
He raised his eyebrows. “Wouldn’t have taken you for a quiet one.”
She almost glared. “Excuse me?’
“My apologizes, I just thought someone as attractive as you would be a social little butterfly that all the boys would be crawling over.” He said casually.
