Allison Charls (Shown Above)
I was sitting in my last class of the day, advanced calculus, when I got the text that would be the beginning of my undoing.
I was writing down the rest of the notes in my black notebook when I heard the buzzing of my phone in my bag. Damn I thought I turned it off.
I couldn't exactly pull it out and check it in the middle of class, Professor Walton would most definitely confiscate it. As I waited for the bell to ring I let myself begin to wonder who it could be. It certainly wasn't Jess, she was two rows ahead of me and obviously sleeping.
There were times like this that I envied her, school came naturally to her, she barely had to do any work and yet she still got straight A's.
Suddenly a hard pinch in my side dragged me back to reality, "fuck, shit, what the hell?!?" I mumbled, glaring at the girl next to me. I mean come on what the hell was that for?
"Ms. Charls, so glad you could grace us with your attention. Do you happen to know the answer? I assume thats why you had that very concentrated look on your face." Professor Walton's deep southern drawl spred across the room towards me.
Great, just great, I don't even know the question how am I supposed to know the damn answer? Suddenly the high pitched ring of the bell sounded throughout the classroom.
"So saved by the bell is a real thing?" I mumbled under my breath while throwing my notebook and pen into my bag.
I managed to get out of the class without any further humiliation. Grabbing my phone and plugging in my earbuds I started to make my way to the parking lot. My truck wasn't a rust bucket or anything like that but it definitely wasn't brand new.
Most of the kids that went to that school were rich, not that we were scraping by or anything, we just weren't billionaires. Throwing my bag onto the passenger seat I finally had time to look at the text.

Ace Of Hearts: Hey. Can you do me a favor and come get me?
Me: Why? Don't you have a girlfriend for that exact reason?
Ace Of Hearts: We broke up, please I just need a ride back to my place.
Me: Fine... Where are you?
Ace Of Hearts: Promise you won't get mad....
Me: Where the hell are you Ace?
Ace Of Hearts: That didn't sound like a promise.....
Me: Thats because it wasn't. Tell me where you're at. Now!
Ace Of Hearts: I'm at Brendans....
Me: I'll be there in ten minutes, be ready to explain why the hell you're back there.
Ace Of Hearts: I'm sorry...
Me: You've said that before Ace....

It was pretty obvious I was pissed, and there was good reason for it. I've known Ace Draven since third grade, he's always getting into trouble. For example, stealing and driving without a liscense.
That was all before he was fifteen. Now he's nineteen and can do serious jail time for his stupid decisions.
I wondered why he was at Brendans, a notorious dug dealer, and why didn't he have his truck.
When I pulled into Brendan's drive way I threw my truck into park and grabbed the baseball bat I kept in the back for occasions just like this.
"Where the hell is he!" I yelled at the top of my lungs.
I was pissed, no matter how much work I put into getting Ace out of trouble that Brendan got him into it was never enough. For some reason he kept coming back here, kept getting into trouble.
"Ok, calm down babe, he's right here" Brandon smirked as he sauntered out the side door, throwing his head casually in Ace's direction.
"Don't call me babe, we've been over for years and you know it." god, just seeing him sent me into a violent frenzy.
"Now, now, you know you still love me. Put sugar down and we can talk, yes?"
Sugar was what I called my bat, I'm surprised he still remembers.
"Don't come anywhere near me you asshat, and don't think for a second I won't use sugar on you" I snarkily replied.
Brendan just sneered back at me, walking slowly, getting closer and closer.
I tightened my grip on sugar, getting excited that I could finally put him through some of the pain he had put me through.
I felt my adrenaline coursing through my veins, my blood beginning to boil hotter with every step he took towards me.
"Ok, ok you two knock it off" Ace stepped out from behind Brendan, momentarily awakening the butterflies in my stomach. As I remembered where we were I could feel every last butterfly dying.
"Allison put your bat down and get back in the truck...Now" Ace called over to me.
How dare he! I came to get his ass out of here and now he thinks he can order me around like some lost puppy. I don't think so.
"Her name is sugar and you do not have the right to order me around. If anybody needs to get their ass back in the truck it would be you Ace!" I yelled in his general direction, never taking my eyes off Brendan.
Brendan starts chuckling quietly, "you really going to let that bitch order you around Ace? come on bro grow a pair."
Stalking towards him, I quietly muttered under my breath, "somebodys about to lose their pair."
This didn't seem to affect him however as he kept laughing. Suddenly I was being picked up and thrown over a guys shoulder.
"ACE JACKSON DRAVEN YOU PUT ME DOWN RIGHT NOW" I yelled angrily hitting his back harder with every step he took towards my truck.
"No can do Ally" as he got closer to the truck I finally gave up.
I felt him bending down and all of a sudden I was sitting in the passenger seat. I could hear my bat being thrown in the back.
I slid over to the drivers side before he could even get to the door, locking it and smiling I started her up. Ace came around and glared when he saw that I was driving.
Ha, I thought. He honestly believed I was going to let him drive, please. I motioned towards the passenger side, and after a few huffs and puffs he jogged around and slid into his seat.
I threw the truck into reverse and whipped out of the driveway in a rage. Ace was actually quiet through most of the drive, which was very unlike him.
"Why were you there again..." I finally built up the courage to ask him, never taking my eyes off the road.
"I'm not working for him if thats what you're asking." Out of the corner of my eyes I could see his head was between his hands. He almost looked guilty... almost.
This time however, I didn't know if I could trust him...
