When living in an orphanage with 9 other children, no one gets much peace; and being the only boy of quadruplets Kai gets virtually no peace at all. So when he wakes up at 8 on his birthday, he had no plans to get out of bed any time in the near future. As he lays there thinking about how his day is going to go, as well as hoping it'll be better than the last 11 years of his life, his sisters run in.
“Kai-” squeaks Terra as she slowly creeps towards him.
“Wake-” interrupts Talia while she strides in the room and sits on the end of his bed.
“-UP!!!” screams Tatum as she bounces in the room full of energy.
“It’s our Birthday!” They yell in unison while quickly dissolving into a fit of giggles.
“Oh yay! I'm so excited to be a year older! Cheers to another year in hell!” Kai says through gritted teeth. He curls back up in his blankets and shoves a pillow over his head. Whispering over by his dresser leaves him curious as to what his sister's are planning. It doesn't surprise him though, as he believes it 's what those three do best together, next to annoying him.
He is snapped out of his thoughts by the sudden realization that the room has gone quiet. Too quiet.
Before he can even register what is happening, he is soaking wet and freezing cold. He looks up to see his darling sister Tatum holding an empty bucket. The three of them are laughing hysterically as his face gets redder and redder. As Kai tries to get up, He gets even more tangled in the blankets and proceeds to trip and fall landing splattered on the ground. At this point, the girls are struggling to breathe through their laughter and Kai is trying to hold back a laugh himself. As he tries to get angry with them Kai starts to pick himself up from the floor.
“You are gits” He squeezes out between laughter.
“But you love us!!” They say together as they walk out of his room.
Kai rolls his eyes and and looks around the room. He thinks of the many memories this room holds. The cherry wood dresser has drawings from over the years on the back. Each one tells story of his childhood. Underneath the matching bed frame has the quadruplets initials. Hung above his little wooden desk, He has pinned multiple drawings to the wall from his sisters. They span from when they were very young up to Terra's newest drawing from yesterday. Most of them are Terra’s because she is an amazing artist. Every aspect of Kai's room has a memory of his sisters that he holds near and dear to his heart. The four of them are inseperable and there is nothing anyone can do to tear them apart.
They are very close because they are identical quadruplets. The girls have long dark brown hair with sky blue eyes. They are average height and are very lean and quite petite. The only way to tell them apart is noticing the little things. Terra almost always has paint on her face or hands. Talia is just a little bit thinner than her sisters due to her dancer build. Last but not least, Tatum usually has her hair tied up. Kai is very similar but he is a bit taller than his sisters. His hair isnt long but instead, quite the opposite. His hair was short, messy, and he was constantly needing to move his bangs out of his eyes.
Since Kai lived in orphanage for most of his life he has very few friends other than his siblings. Even though he goes to school he never really fit in. He has always been bullied because of his lack of parents and since weird things always happen around him. His sisters haven't really had to go through that because they are popular. They are all beautiful and have something that makes them who they are. He doesn't feel special. He says he's just Kai. He hates his appearance because he is tall, lanky, and freckled. Kai isn't very good at sports either. He thinks he doesn't really fit in anywhere and therfore, has kind of hidden in his sisters’ shadow. Terra is a phenomenal artist, Tatum is really good in school, and Talia is an amazing dancer. How can he compete with that?
