Hikaru's heart pounded in his ears. His eyes widened as he began to understand what was happening. His instincts kicked in and he quickly backed away from the window while tugging on his brothers sleeve. "Karou come on!"

Hesitant to move from both confusion  and fear, Karou stayed still. His eyes locked with (Y/N)'s. For a second that lasted an eternity, they look at each other. Both eyes filled to the brim with fear. "Karou! Snap out of it!" His brother jerked his arm, causing Karou to stumble forward before running.

Both ran. They didn't know where they were going, but every alarm in their brains were flashing red, screaming at them to run first and think later.
"Oh my God- what was that?!" Karou yelled. "That was (Y/N) you idiot! She's a-" both stopped abruptly and gagged. The collars of their suits were being pulled by the silliote of a man, his identity masked by the dark of the night. Karou's eyes were squeezed shut out of fear, Hikaru's were opened wide as he clawed at the white collar that dug into his skin.

The man leaned down so he was in the middle of both the twins heads and whispered threateningly.
"What did you see?"
"Nothing! We promise we will not tell anyone!" Both shout in unison. A mixture of sweat and tears dripped from their cheeks, staining their uniforms.
"If you saw nothing, what would you have to tell?"
The man dragged the twins back to the house.

After a while of the twins going through the classic stages of when you find out your friend/crush is a vampire which include (but definitely are NOT limited to):
1. Fearing for your life
2. Crying
3. Fighting back
4. Crying again
5. Accepting death
6. Realizing you're not going to die

"-Wait what?" Karou asked, tears streaks stained on his skin. "You're not going to kill us?"
"I love you guys, why would I kill you?"
"To like," Karou began, "suck our blood?" Hikaru mumbled questionably.

"Why do you think I was so sickly and pale earlier?" (Y/N) asked with a sad look in her eyes. The question hadn't been rhetorical, but neither twin had an answer. It was so much to process, too much to process. Being in the presence of a vampire had felt normal and insane at the same time.

"I didn't want to eat." (Y/N) began,
"I starved myself for weeks to feel normal, to feel like I truly fit in with you all. To feel human.."

Your POV

"So you're like," Hikaru began, "A vampire?" asked Karou.
"Yeah pretty much.." you mumbled while rubbing your arm as a way to comfort yourself. Truth be told, you were nervous and scared. What if they drove you away, or outed you?
"Please, please promise you won't tell anyone. My brother and I just settled down and we can't move again." You looked at them with hopeless eyes.

"Do you really think that they're just going to keep this a secret?"

"Of course we'll keep it secret!" Karou emphatized.
Your head jerked up in question. You looked at Karou and studied his face. You then looked at Hikaru, who was just as confused as you, then back to Karou.

"What?!" Hikaru shouted with anger and utter confusion. He turned to his brother and grabbed his shoulders and dragged him out the front door. "We're totally not keeping this hidden! She could kill us!" He looked back at you, face full of hatred and fear.
You followed the twins to the sidewalk where Karou jerked away from his brother in a fit of fury. Their shouts were drowned out by the voices inside your head.

"We've seen that face before, haven't we? Oh right, everyone that knows who- no- what you really are has it. You're nothing but-"
"-Our friend!"
You snapped out of your self-loathing to see the twins getting into a heated verbal arguement.
"If she wanted to kill us, she had plenty of time to do it." Karou looked at you with a look of unwanted pity and another feeling you couldn't quite place.

"You can do whatever you want, but I'm not waiting around to be sucked dry like some sort of glass of water." Hikaru started away, but before he could take another step, Karou grabbed his arm and stopped him.
"Please brother, she'd have to move and hide for years if you tell. You know what its like to keep an important secret." He looked at his brother pleadingly.

It was quiet, with only the sound of the summers song being strummed by nearby crickets filling the empty air. The moon glowed as it watched you with intrest, ready to see what would happen next.

"Fine."
Hikaru mumbled and jerked his arm away from his brother. Walking home without him, he faded into the night.
Karou stayed still on that side walk, and even though the rain had stopped hours ago, droplets poured down Karou's face. For the first time, the twins felt like complete strangers to one another.

"Do you mind if I stay the night?" Karou whispered, "I don't really want to see him right now." He wiped his face as he said this, and though you wanted to comfort him, a strange feeling overcame you.
For the first time ever, you felt butterflies in your stomach.

He's accepting me.

"Of course I am," Karou turned and put a hand on your shoulder. "You've done nothing but been helpful and loving towards all of us. You don't deserve to be driven out of your home like some beast," Karou smiled before continuing, "because even though you sure act like one sometimes, you are not a monster (Y/N)."

You didn't realize you said that out loud, and your face began to glow. You quickly spun around to hide the fact that you were, indeed, blushing, and to hide the tears of joy that flooded your eyes. His words touched your heart. You had never had someone accept you after knowing what you were.

"Well," you wiped your eyes,"Come on, you don't want to catch a cold."
"It's summer" "Whatever! Come on ginger garbage."
Behind you, Karou's frown soon turned into a smile as he laughed and followed you inside.

Timeskipppppppppppp

"Wait so let me get this straight, you're like two thousand years old?!"

You and Karou had been sitting on your bed just talking for hours now, but it felt like only a few minutes. He was really curious about the whole vampire incident and how it happened, and how you ate, if vampires could be vegan, and so on.

"We'll sort of? When I was bitten, I kind of just stayed the same age."
"So you'll never be able to drink alcohol legally? And what do you do for birthdays? Have you just celebrated the same age for the last two thousand years?" Karou asked in a rush.
It seemed so strange that he didn't think you were some monster, that he saw you as a normal-ish person.
"I guess not, but I don't like the taste of alcohol anyway since I can only consume blood, and I actually haven't really had a birthday party since the whole thing happened."

He stared at you in awe and the butterflies began fluttering again. You wrapped your arms around your stomach to try to stop it, but it didn't change anything.

"Well that's definitely going to change." He said, breaking the eye contact to grab a pen and his math journal, and began jotting down ideas.
"We're going to throw you the best party you've ever had! I'm thinking pool party?"
"Can't be in the sun and chlorine isn't good for my sweet precious hair." You say trying to imitate Tamaki.
He tore out that page from the notebook while laughing and tossed it somewhere on the bed. "I was really hoping to see you in a bikini"
"Perv" you mumbled as your face glowed.
"You know it" he smirked and winked at you before looking down at the papers and going back to brainstorming.

"Crap. I think I might have a crush on a pervy ginger twin."
