It all started with an email, a VERY important email. The email was from NASA that needed a brave and experienced pilot to make the first trip to mars. And of course I was ecstatic to be there first choice. Oh, and did I mention I am John, John ragor. I am a full time engineer and test pilot for nasa. I have been to the moon and back twice and mars shouldn't be any different. I have a family two girls and a wife. Sofia and lalet they were twins and the pride and joy of my life. Every time I left for space I promised them i would come back even though there was never certainty.
The days were coming fast for liftoff I have been traing physically and mentally for this long flight. I have been getting use to the food the gravity the suits anything you could think of. When we were a week away I met my crew. Luis, Joann, and James. They seemed like nice people I just hope they are trained. I spent the last few days only with my family because I know I won't be seeing them for awhile and I just might never again.
The days went by until it was time for blastoff I kissed my wife and kids goodbye. Suited up and got in the ship. Then they started counting down.... "blasting of T-20 second 19 18 17 16 15 14 13 12 11" I waved to my family hoping I would see them again "5 4 3 2 1 BLAST OFF". And we were off shooting up into space I could feel the G-force as we tried to escape the at,sphere then finally relief we were drifting in space. Safe...for now.
A couple hours later we went to bed. And we were awakened by a high pitch siren and big bangs. We went to the front of the ship and saw were in a storm of meteors we took over manual and steered out of it and were once agin in safe "skies". Now that we were awake none of us really wanted to go back to bed so we started playing games. After a while of fun we near the computer say "jets ready to fire" and we ran to the front just in time to see ourselves shoot through space, who knows how far.
We woke up hours later everyone was knocked out form the impact. I looked over to make sure everyone was ok but Joann was moaning. I woke James and Luis and we looked at Joann. When we turned her around the was a red and black circle and the back of her head wet with blood. It's ok this is what we were trained for. We got the first aid kit out cleaned, stitched, and patched up he cut. Then let her rest. After that was over I went to the front and checked the GPS when I looked at were we were in the solar system earth or mars was no where to be found....we were in a different..,universe.
We looked around in space for the most solid planet we could find then landed. The planet had trees water and looked habitable. But you never know. We opened up the hatch and jumped out. Then I realized Joann didn't have her helmet on I ran back inside to find Joann sleeping safe a sound. That can only mean one thing....it's safe to breathe, I took of my helmet and ran out to tell the others.
Next part coming soon!
