Braddin Reedes is sitting at the computer desk, paying his bills and sorting out his finances. Every Saturday he does this so he can relax on Sundays.
He is really mature for a 24 years old man. Working at the only big corporate the city has. Whitehall Technology Inc. He been there for 6 years as a computer analysis. He is a well known man that knows anything and everything about technology.
He is a man with responsibilities. He doesn't like having debts, use credit cards or do anything unnecessary. So he keeps things simple yet satisfying. That way he can avoid trouble at all cost.
He gets up after finishing his bills and decided to take a shower. Staring at his reflection in the mirror of the bathroom. Ocean blue eyes staring back at him with his brown hair down to his ears. The chain necklace around his neck held a round metal pendant. In the circle is a tree all in wires with beads on them. A gift from his grandmother. He never took it off and never will.
As soon as he was done with his shower, his phone rings.
"Hello?"
"Hey babe, you want to do something tonight? I want to go to this new club that just opened." His girlfriend of one year asked.
"Holly, you know I don't like that kind of thing."
"I know but I really want to go and it's best to go with you. I will even go for a short time, just to check it out." Holly begs. She knows where his buttons are and get him to do anything she wants. "I promise to be good."
He rolls his eyes. "Alright, but we leave when I say."
"Deal." She squeals. "See you at eight!" And she hung up.
"There goes my plans for tonight."
That night, Braddin and his girlfriend made it to the club and it was packed. A line formed from the entrance to the back of the building.
"Holly, we won't make it inside. By the time we are at the door, it will be closed.
She just smirks, walks up to the bouncer, who let them in without so much as a glance. "You were saying?"
"How did you do that?" She just shrugs and walks to the bar for a drink.
He joins her and looks around the place. It was way too crowded with people dancing wild and close to each other. The music was playing really loud with techno music. He was definitely not fond of the place but stayed so Holly can enjoy herself.
He looked over to his right to see a woman in tight blue jeans and a silver tank top with a neon pink bra underneath it. Her black hair with blue streaks was down past her shoulders, twisted hair pieces tied to the back of her head.
They made eye contact and his heart skipped a beat. Her green eyes were so vibrant, deep and soulful. He felt like he should know her. But how? He doesn't remember meeting her. Getting lost in her eyes till someone bumped into him and he looked away.
Shaking his head and looked at the time. "Two hours!" He cried out in shocked. He looked everywhere to find Holly. Not liking how time slipped past him. After searching for his girlfriend, he gave up and left the club.
As he walks to his car, he heard noises in one of the car in the parking lot. He couldn't help but look to find something he wasn't expecting. His girlfriend in the backseat with the bouncer from the club getting a little too close.
Her eyes caught his and she froze. Then she tried to get out of the car as he walks off angry and hurt.
"Braddin! Wait!" He ignored her. "Please!"
"Why? Why would you do that to me?" Pointing toward the car with the bouncer. "Because we don't? Am I not satisfying enough for you?"
"No. I just...I'm sorry, okay. I made a mistake!"
"A mistake?!" He yells. "From where I was standing, it didn't look like it. We are through. I am not giving you a third." And he left her in her guilt and shame.
He arrived home in frustration. "How could I be so stupid!" Grabbing a water bottle from the fridge and sat on the couch. "Once, shame on her. Twice, shame on me." He laid down on the couch. "I am done." He turned his phone on silence and closed his eyes. Falling asleep in matter of seconds.
