We listened to the teacher drone on about cyber bullying at lunch again the next day. I sat next to Eli and Miguel as I stole their food.

"I was called up by a mother who said her son was crying after some kid made fun of his facial deformity." I heard her say. Everyone looked at Eli. I put my hand on his, smiling apologetically. I couldn't help but be angry at the teacher for saying that when it was obviously aimed at Eli. He took his hand away to cover his lip when people began whispering.

"You know if your sick of being bullied my karate dojos looking for recruits." Miguel suggested. My eyes lit up at that.
"Yeah, right. You hear that Eli? A little karate training and your gonna kick some major ass! Demetri said, making me cut him off.

"I used to do Wrestling! Maybe I'll join!" I said excitedly, my eyes practically sparking.
"I'm serious Demetri, all right? My Sensei's the real deal and Im sure I could get you all discounts. And (Name), you could totally come with me after school one day." Miguel said, I nodded enthusiastically.

"As enticing as that sounds, I think we'd rather spend our afternoons playing Overwatch then getting hit in the face." Demetri said, I shrugged. I was seriously considering it.

I drove Miguel to his dojo after school to join. Demetri said I'd finally lost it and Eli was supportive as usual. However, I didn't let Demetri stop me.

"You have your license already?" Miguel asked as I drove. I laughed and shook my head.
"Can't afford drivers ed. I have to wait until next year till I get it." I answered, making his eyes widen.
"It's alright, I won't get you killed."

"It actually works out well, the days you have practice I have off of work." I told him. He smiled and nodded.
"Great! I'm sure you'll love Sensei. Where do you work?" He asked.
"LaRussos car dealership." I said, making him nod.
"Cool!"

We were waiting for an hour outside the dojo before his Sensei came. He had blonde hair and what looked like a bad attitude.
"Hey Sensei, you told me to be here at five, right?" Miguel said, we watched him unlock the door.

"Yeah, but today's training is cancelled." He answered. I crossed my arms.
"What Why?" Miguel asked.
"Cause I said so." He answered back. Miguel looked at him in disbelief, following him inside. I trailed after him.

"Wait, Sensei! There's something I wanna show you!" Miguel said, I watched him fish through his bag.
"Look, I'm really not in the mood. And who's this, your girlfriend?" He asked. I shook my head.
"My names (name). I wanted to join." I said sweetly, offering him a toothy smile that he declined.

"We don't take girls." He said sourly, I crossed my arms.
"Well you gotta now. Looks like you don't have many customers yet." I spoke back. He looked at me in disbelief.

"Yeah, well girls can't take the heat. Now get out." He said to me. But I stood my ground. Miguel watched in disbelief.

"No."
He scoffed at me, but I refused to stop.
"Fine then. Miguel. Fight her. See is she has what it takes."
"What?! Sensei I'm not gonna fight her-"
"No, do it." I said back, getting into stance.
"I did wrestling all throughout middle school. Show me what you got." I said. He shrugged and looked at his Sensei, who nodded.

"Fight!" Sensei said, making Miguel run at me. I crouched under his fist and punched his stomach. South paw. He stumbled back holding it as I ran at him, jumping on him and knocking him over.
"ONE TWO THREE!" I yelled, making him tap the floor and push me off. I dusted myself off and turned to the Sensei, who's eyes were wide.

"Your good... but this isn't boxing." He told me. I let out a overdramatized sigh.
"Wrestling. And I'm joining." I corrected him. He rolled his eyes at me.
"Whatever."

"I'll think about it. But I'm the one who makes decisions around here." He said to me. I shrugged, clicking my tongue.

"Whatever."

"Good afternoon Mr. LaRusso! Louie..." I said to them, straightening the wrinkles out of my shirt. They greeted me back, and I went to work.

I was worn from the work they had me doing in the dojo, and my arms ached as I washed the cars. I had this job for about four moths since the summer. I was already pretty close to Mr. LaRusso and his wife. They trusted me and treated me like a daughter. This job wasn't too hard also. Pretty straight forward. Wash the cars, restock the snack table and do what Mr. LaRusso says. I had it down pat.

"Hey kid, you alright?" I heard his voice asked I I slowly watched the expensive new G Wagon they had shipped in. I was about to answer, but yawned and cut myself off. He laughed at me.
"Yeah- I might join this new Dojo. They have me doing a lot of work there also. But it's fun, it brings me back to my junior wrestling days." I said as I threw the sponge into the bucket of sudsy water, grabbing the hose. Mr.LaRusso froze for a moment.

"Wait- what Dojo?" He asked suddenly. I raised an eyebrow, shrugging.
"Cobra Kai. It's totally badass!" I said, beginning to rinse off the car.

"No-" he said cut me off, I stopped and turned to him.
"What?"
"You can't go there. Your sensei, he's my childhood bully. The one who cheated at the tournament!" He said, making he cross my arms.

"Mr.LaRusso. I really like it there. It's fun and-" I stopped to look at the floor.
"You know exactly why I should learn self defense." I said quietly. He pursed his lips and sighed.
"Whatever, join if you want. I trust you, but do anything to hurt us and your fired." He said, making me bite my lip.

"I would never." I answer back, making him nod.

"Good." He said ruffling my hair. I smiled up at him.
"Maybe show me what you learn one day. I won't hold this against you. Your right, you need to learn defense." He said, knowing my situation. He smiled and started walking away.

"Good job by the way-" he said walking away. But he stopped in his tracks.

"Wait! Did you officially join yet!?" He asked, making me shake my head.
"I didn't pay the down payment. Why?"

"I can train you." He said, smiling triumphantly.
