The Charm

Vemil wasn't exactly heaven on earth.It was a rubble city but i could have only imagine the glory it carried in the previous centuries.Each fallen building,each cracked sidewalk told a story of its own.An adventure that the city basked in before people probably just gave up on it.I walked speedily behind my fiance,his steps longer than mine and he didnt seem to be almost out of air as i was."So you dont like your little potrait lover anymore huh",he said."What?,I asked in awe before i realized he was talking about the request i had made to have that potrait taken down."I dont know,he is not my type i guess."I said playing along.He stopped and looked back at me."Youre looking awfully luring today.I swear i could just put you down on this dirty ground and take you",he said handing me a bottle of water.I laughed so hard."You can't be serious,on this dirty ground you say.Nah nah my handsome chocolate.I will not be taken on the dirty ground.Im much too sexy to be taken in such a manner",I said walking past him.He whistled,obviously looking at my behind.We walked into the center of the city.It was a busy place,people on every corner either selling something or being convinced to buy something.I looked over at the stand we had passed yesterday.The dried meat stand."You want some?",Chris asked.I nodded greedily.He held my hand as we went closer to the stand."Mukuyu?3 Peso,get one",the man said smiling at us.Chris handed him some local money which Elmo had changed for us.I was pretty certain they wouldnt take visa cards in this native place.The man handed me a little stick.In our country we called this meat beef jerky,but Mukuyu was rather an interesting name."Mukuyu ",I said smiling like a little kid who had just been given candy.Chris and the man laughed both amazed at my childishness.I bit into it.The meat was soft and stringy but tasted very sweet.It was tasty."Here Miss",I looked up and saw the woman from yesterday.The one who had been stopped by the gate as we entered Vemil.She was holding a charm bracelet.I looked at Chris."Take it.Good luck.It protects you",the Mukuyu guy said.I stretched out my hand and took it.It was beautiful,with animal bones and crystals.She looked relieved that i had taken it.I followed Chris as we walked away.I put my new gift away in my purse.The rest of the morning and afternoon took us into Vemil.It was enchanting.It took my breath away.The diversity of the people,they were humble and accomodating.It was starting to get dark when we started walking back to the hotel.The air was cool and there was a peaceful aura.The sunset was beautiful as the sun sank behind the city.It reminded me of my first date with Chris.He had always been such a helpless romantic but a clueless one too.He had been so nervous,drove us to a hilltop and we sat in the car in silence.He had some flowers in his backseat but couldnt be brave enough to give them to me because he didnt know if i loved red roses.I had to hold his hand and start up conversation."I like red roses",i remember saying to him.We watched the the sunset afterwards and talked about our hopes and dreams.Every once in while,after that night,he would put roses on my bedside so i would wake up to the second thing i loved the most,after him."Whats on your mind,pretty face".Chris asked wrapping his arms around my waist."The first time we had a date",I said.He hated talking about it but i knew we were mearnt to be right after that date."Of all the things you can think about baby,you could think about our Fiji trip,our first time,even now."he said.I smiled."It was my favourite".I looked up to one of the windows at the hotel.A man was standing there looking right at us."Baby do you see that?",I asked.He looked up."What are we looking at?"he asked."The man at the window".I looked back at the window.He was gone.I sighed."We should go take a shower and i will give you a massage my love.You look so tired."he said.We walked into the hotel.It was quiet."Looks like nobody's home"i said.I looked back to see if Chris was there.His eyes turned black and then back to normal in a second as i looked at him."Whats wrong Hazel"his voice sounded weird.He closed his eyes and opened them as if something had made an entrance and exit out of him."Chris youre scaring me"I said standing still."What do you mean Hazel"he said sounding normal now.I was losing my mind.It was that meat i had earlier or i was just tired.I just needed to sleep.Chris was right.I was starting to see things....................................................................................................,.........................................,,....,,,...,......,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,.........,,,,,,,,,Hie guys,are we doing okay so far?Please vote and let me know what you would like to see happen to Chris and Hazel.
